san jose. all rain right now. san francisco and oakland and points north where it will continue to pour all night long. it will be windy in the hills and along the coastline. south winds will be gusty everywhere. mountain wind gusts could hit 50 miles per hour. temperatures outside in the mid 50s. 55 in oh oak land and san jose. that tropical air brings in rainfall but also makes it rather warm. speaking of tropical, the origin of the rainfall that is coming down for you in moraine county and sonoma county, napa county is the tropics. its coming up from our southwest and making it every once in a while into california. we have had it twice in the past two weeks. we will be a very soggy storm. look at the distribution of rainfall. overnight we stop the clock on future cast at 3:00 in the morning. still no rain in san jose. still pouring in san francisco and points north. watch through the morning hours. still the heaviest rainfall is north of the golden gate. at 2:00 in the afternoon its raining but lightly. it will pour and we will see the heavy rain and for all of us by wednesday morning and scattered

san francisco by sunrise, things relatively dry. a few isolated showers north of san francisco. san jose stays dry. the next widespread main event will hold off to tuesday and wednesday. it could get interesting as another system tries to drop down the coast and interacts with moisture to the south. we haven't had to talk about an atmosphered river for a while, but that may be the case. see the moisture of the incoming storm that could increase rain rates that we could see for coasta moulain ranges and the sierras. watch out for that. the estimates for coastal mountains could be high and inches of rain possible. keep an eye on the forecast during the day wednesday. after that, another cold storm drops down the coast, thursday to friday and snow level dropping 3 to 4,000 feet. if that's not enough, maybe this time next weekend stay tuned as an even colder system comes in. winter rolls on tomorrow morning, patchy frost likely and plan on wind as well, a gusty looking storm bringing in heavy rain and stay tuned for that wednesday storm and keeps coming. colder assistance for next weekend and possible

so the commute not that bad down here for san jose, morgan hill and gilroy. but for anyone there in the northding to san franci i to be a slow goyou. eventually, as we head through tuesday afternoon, there we go, we start to get into some rainfall for san jose, and then once we hit 10:30 at night tomorrow, you get your heavier rainfall down there for the south bay. but as we've been running through this time line, you've probably noticed the north bay just stays in it for about a 24-hour period and that's how we get into some of these flooding problems. eventually we start to see things break up once we hit 7:30 in the morning there on wednesday. rainfall totals, it's going to show the bull's-eye here through the north bay. we have this updated key at the top. locate your city. draw your attention to these areas in yellow, the smaller pockets for the higher elevations there. we could see 7 plus inches for those locations. for a lot of our lower elevations, east bay, peninsula, south bay, you're in this three quarter inch to maybe about 1 1/2 inch range. santa cruz mountains also going to get

san jose. the rain is all to the north. santa rosa is still pouring. n jose is still waiting for the first drops. the winter storm warning continues through thursday morning. the snow level is 4500 feet. widespread snowfall totals 2 to 5 feet. they broke that record just an hour or two ago. an all-time record for the snowiest month. february is not even done yet. they did this record in 26 days. 286 inches of snow. the camera is shaking as it looks down on the east cut of san francisco. 55 in the city 56 in concord and 52 in santa rosa. it will stay in the 50s tonight. the tropical air will not allow us to collect but we are getting some rain because this atmospheric river road finally move. this low has been coming into the same angle. the angle of the rainfall has not moved so the location of the heavy rain also has not moved. that will change as the low approaches the coastline tonight and we will have an opportunity for a few hours of steady soaking rain. it works its way south but by two or three a clock in the morning it is gone. it will rush out

north bay. not so much san jose and the south bay but areas north of san francisco tomorrow, a slight chance ofsolated showers before the main rain event begins to evolve late tuesday into wednesday. another one of these weather systems dropping down the coast but at least initially the cold air is going to stay up to the north but what's a little bit different is a lot of subtropical moisture being aimed in, sometimes referred to as atmospheric river. so rain rates could be higher with the warmer air in place as that comes in through midday wednesday. so rainfall expectations as the models update here. you can see up here how the north bay could see a few inches of rain. also the santa cruz mountains. have to watch out for that wednesday into early thursday morning. we'll see another colder system drop down friday into saturday and then perhaps this time next sunday could see another chilly system drop through the bay area. so a very active looking 7-day forecast as we see a chilly start to tomorrow morning. get ready for some wind and potential for heavy rain at times. tuesday night into wedn
