tropical storm hermine right now moving through parts of north carolina into virginia, you can see in norfolk we see some of the heavier rain band moving through, that's the yellow/oranges that you see, this extends out to sea at this point and as expected the right side of this system, the heaviest activity, the most intense activity, that is typical when you're dealing with tropical storms and the projection still very similar to what we saw yesterday as we move through the next several days meaning looking to affect us pretty seriously along the shore. now, if we zoom in almost now seeing rain moving into delaware, right near ocean city, maryland, we see some of that more moderate rain falling, that's going to start to creep farther to the north and northeast as we move along today into tomorrow before it lines up very closely with our area. currently from atlantic city rain still about 80 miles to the southwest, later on today, though, chances of rain will creep into delaware and through the afternoon, evening as well along the coastline. that's something we will have our eyes on.

north carolina. winds of 60 miles an hour. we still saw the gusty situations out there for kerry sanders. you could see the heaviest rain through virginia beach, but banding up across parts of that will continue to try to move north. i want to point outgoing through the end of the week through labor day, it is not the rain that is an issue, but the storm is offshore and it could strengthen with winds up to 75 miles per hour. that will push the water onshore and create gusty winds. we have the dip in the jet stream. it will get trapped through here. that is why it will not move. you have the water pushed to the astronomical high tide. at times, perhaps as high as 40 to up to 60 miles per hour. not just in the mid-atlantic, but across long island and up into nantucket and south coast of massachusetts. that is how expansive it is. you add 2 to 4 feet in the addition of the astronomical high tide and that could lead to flooding in the atlantic and new england as well. as for rain, we are not virginia and north carolina with an additional 4 to 6 inches of rain. you look at new jersey and atlantic city with 2 inches. the farther north you go,

slams into the panhandle, goes through georgia, it goes through south carolina, eventually, north carolina, virginiat the track is much further westward than we initially thought. we thought it would take a sharp right at north carolina and not bother us at all, that's completely different today. it goes back to a tropical storm, it is still expected to have a lot of moisture with it. and this could all affect specially sunday's weather, for the holiday weekend, potential rainfall estimates, you see our guide here, don't expect ton of rain from the storm but of course since it is going to be a coastal storm, there will be more rain at the shore on sunday, is when we are expecting that. meanwhile, we ended up tying the record for the most 90 agree plus days in the month of august, with our 91 degrees high yesterday. today, 84, much cooler, 83 on friday, i think we will be sunny on saturday. it looks like the rain that is coming from hermine will arrive on sunday, but stay tuned, because that could change, and hopefully clearing up by monday, looks like, we've got some more heat and humidity in our fu
