the northbay have the concentration of showers this evening.listoga and one is about to get saint melina. these things are lifting from the southwest to northeast. a la nina advisory was issued today. we are now expecting a week la niÑa through the winter months. what does this mean specifically? it is minimal impact locally and a very poor leading indicator. we have had some really wet winters and a really dry winters with a week la niÑa. for the to the north is wet and farther to the south is dry. you may be hearing more and more about a week la niÑa this winter. alejo is 52 tonight. we have more showers coming because the low-pressure area behind the front has not moved an inch. it is going to get closer to us coming up tomorrow. unstable air around this cold core area of low pressure that will continue to feed into some unstable air tomorrow. showers will be on the increase especially in the northbay tomorrow morning. the line of showers will move south to the golden gate by around lunchtime tomorrow. and the south bay you could see drips o

we could see two inches of rain in the northbay.t's why there is a flood watch in effect up there and that has a lot to do with the burn areas. a wind advisory goes into effect. and the gusts will go up to 50 miles per hour. the heavy rain forecast for the northbay gives you a flash flood watch goes into effect tomorrow afternoon. that's a time of heaviest rain. so here's the model. here's tomorrow morning. that's around 5:00. your in the northbay. right now you think morning or afternoon commute. it's mostly northbay at this point. as you move into 7:00, it's heavy rain. really heavy rain. 9:00, it's raining. santa rosa is on the back edge. rain down to san mateo. a strong band of showers moves into san jose and by 3:00 in the morning, this is an eight hour event as it sweeps across the bay area. that's why rainfall accumulations will be significant. that's why you want to clean the gutters if you can and be ready. standing water and strong winds. we've had a little bit of rain. it all ready has up to one half inch of rain in the northbay. some areas that there are around one inch of rain. we have seen scattered showers around the bay area and current radar shows rain down around berkeley and oakland in san francisco. santa rosa is actually getting a break. a few more scattered showers in the forecast and the afternoon commute is getting hit a little bit. oakland, hayward, richmond, a bit slow. it is coming down from the sky and it's a heavy mist. moderate rain at times like the yellow area north of antioch. you can get a feel for what we are looking at. that is tomorrow morning. so it will clear out in the morning and in the afternoon. look what happens on wednesday. just look at the next system. that system has a pretty good pop as well. and so that really drives at home. 7000 homes and they've got to comb through each one of those and -- in response to the rain. when i come back, we will talk more about the rain and the potential for snow in the mountains. >>> the prosecution indicates steinle murder trial pulled its

let's take a look at the radar in the northbay. moderate to heavy rain and santa rosa over the past hour. you can see it falling near st. helena and petaluma seeing rain as well. as we move over to where the peninsula, a few sprinkles from areas along the coast. may be right on the edge of san bruno and crossing over the san mateo bridge. we're not done with this and it's going to march across the bay area. it is expected to fizzle out. i will show you that in the future cast model. let's take a look at rainfall amounts. areas are picking up mother one inch of rain. atlas d, a little more than 1/10 of an inch. the santa cruz mountains, almost 1/10 of an inch. san francisco, oakland, san jose, haven't seen anything just yet. as we get into the second part of the afternoon, that rain line will move into the central bay and the south bay. f also part around 5:00 this afternoon. from the future cast model you can see it won't be a lot. as we get into the evening hours, the system will be fairly week. i will have a look at what you can

it does include the northbay valley locations for the burn areas. again, it will start late tomorrow into the afternoon and last into thursday morning. and includes areas from cloverdale down to san rafael. napa is included in their -- napa is included in there as well. here's what we are expecting as we get into night and tomorrow morning. the clouds will move in tomorrow morning. not as chilly as the date. as we start the morning, scattered showers over portions of the northbay. it doesn't look like it will budge for the morning. we will be dry for the entire morning. lunchtime could be mainly dry around the bay area. by 3:00 are so is coming down over the northbay. perhaps even heavy rainfall. by the evening drive, it's moving into the central day. it will finally move into the south bay. you can see from the oranges and the rest we are expecting heavy rain. this will continue into the overnight hours. as far as rainfall amounts, this goes all the way into thursday. you can see anywhere from one inch to two inches and our hills can pick up three

showers showing up on the northbay around 3:00 in the afternoon.est of us and the central bay, it was sour around here around seven a clock in san rafael and then by 11:00 for san jose. so there is the system. it's pretty impressive looking. it is the attached from the main dynamics here in the main core of the low. when you see that typically it means the system will weaken a little bit. so they're not horribly dynamic and were not going to see amazing winds or rainfall amounts. we could see up to one inch of rain over the next couple of days wednesday, thursday, and friday morning. current temperatures are in the 60s. the -- temperatures were down into the low 30s. tomorrow morning they will be is cold because of the cloud cover. cloudy tomorrow morning, and the east, upper 60s and low 70s and the rains are going to get there until sacramento until 6:00, 8:00 tomorrow night. and then we get into wednesday night. it's mostly northbay. and then the sweet spot will be midnight on wednesday night. these wet roadways for the morning commute, mountain
