a little up close nature for some northbay neighbors and you're looking at this big dude. he is a mountain lion roaming in a backyard in petaluma. wilson walker is live with the homeowners reaction. this is a big cat. >> reporter: isn't that incredible? that video is knockout. it was first spotted late last night around highway 101 and the most recent sighting they think late this morning after it showed up in the video is up toward the hills and the open space which is of course a good direction for the animal to be going, but in the interim did make an impression in this neighborhood. >> yes. it was amazing. like i said, my wife thought it initially out in the street from the window and we thought it was a giant dog and we called 911 instantly. >> reporter: seen it wander off down the street with the first prize but then he checked his home security camera and there it was strolling through his backyard. >> it looked like he was going to go out of the gate the gate was shot so he came walking this way and he went down the side of the house and climbed over the fence. >>
