you can see the totals come into about a half inch of rain in the northbay. maybe a little less for the south bay. if we add on top of that those -- the thursday rain, not blockbuster totals but the totals to go up a bit. that is the rain story. the other item to discuss is a new high surf advisory that the national weather service has issued. i know we had one for very early this morning. here is the next one. this will likely be a bit bigger in terms of the waves. it does not expire until thursday. the people that pay attention to this are not necessarily the surfers and the people who you think need to know about high surf advisories. needs to know about this? anybody who will be on the beach because those are the people more at risk. people who go down to watch the waves and don't know what is coming. look at the wave energy in the pacific. the last few days, there has been a lot of it. we can visualize that swell and that is just about to hit the coastline right there. this gets us into tonight and wednesday which is why we have the timeframe on that hig

peninsula 62 at half moon bay with calm winds. 64 in san mateo. 63 at the mission and northbay 63 sonomalear lake. we are learning more information and i want to share with you what could be happening with the wet weather. it looks like not only wanted storm system but two storms over a four day. right now these will be developing in the pacific. the way it is setting up it looks like they will linger offshore friday and saturday. we see the rain return sunday, monday, tuesday and wednesday for what would be some widespread rain. zero snow, we are still not sure. we see warmer air and it may limit that snow. there is time for that to change. it doesn't look like supers note the way things are calculating up right now. the storm system let's calculate things at 5:00 p.m. really close and you can see the rainfall. then we expect the rain to moved in by sunday morning around 6:30 and we hang on to rain to sunday night and additional rain chances potentially on monday. also on tuesday and wednesday as well. so for the first part of that on sunday i see about 1/2 to three quarters of an inch

light chance of showers in the northbay, all throughout our communities. we will slowly start to dry up. heading into next week, a slight chance of a shower in the forecast for us. we are expecting to see a wetter than normal winter mosley down in southern california but there is a chance we could see that appear in the bay. the climate center issued this winter precipitation outlook and that is what we are seeing through december, january, and february. let's take it a step back. we won't see any crazy downpours but we will have a light chance of shower in santa rosa. less impressive numbers the more south we go. redwood city stretching all the way down into the santa clara valley, early morning hours tomorrow. daytime highs today, you just saw it. 60s widespread throughout the area. >>> florida governor and gop presidential candidate ron desantis squared off with california governor gavin newsom during a debate last night on fox news. newsom says he was doing it to promote president biden's achievements but a good chunk of the debate kind of sounded like

unhealthy especially for sensitive groups from northbay to santa clara valley. high clouds rolling through and this is what we have been keeping a close eye on, it looks like it is not one two storms along with a cold front that is expected to make its move starting late saturday into sunday, more scattered with the high clouds not doing much and for tomorrow because we still have the high pressure, we are expecting to see another day of 70s. initially we are going to see early scattered showers with the band of rain moving in late sunday into early monday morning and it looks like the monday morning commute will be impact did. looking ahead, the second storm system moves in on tuesday and this one looks to be more widespread and a colder storm which means a mix of sun and snow but for the sierra wintry mix with gustier conditions and a cold front associated with that. the unsettled weather pattern will linger through thursday and as far as how much rain, coastal mountain see the highest totals. the forecast extended the next three or four days and he noticed so

northbay coastal areas we are in a 1 to 2 inch range. maybe not much for east bay and south bay. east bay may be close to manage. san jose maybe about a quarter of an inch. we probably get rain shadow from that. that'll be an area to watch. when it comes to rainfall season we are certainly making a huge dent. look at these numbers for the season. 6.32 inches in santa rosa. we are cutting the deficit down big time. in concord 1.84 inches and we are running at -2.42. we are making a dent and that's what we want to see happen. what about other chances? towards christmas we are expected to be dry. next monday. check this out but we could get in on a storm system by next wednesday maybe into next thursday. december 27th and 28th we may be in for a possible half-inch or maybe an inch or more. we will keep an eye on that. the seven-day forecast is dry this weekend. any last minute plans were trips to the store to get stuff done we have good weather to get those errands underway. >> have to do all my shopping. just kidding. >> your wife is going oh no. >> sorry. >>> lava continues to spe

should be bottled up in northbay and eventually towards noon as the temperatures stay in the 50s and the wind picks up out the south. the rain transitions as we head to midafternoon. highs near 60 in san jose and upper 50s in san francisco and oakland. let's talk about the storm. the wind is 15 to 30 miles per hour. you'll notice coming out of the southeast for about a 35 per mile wind gust of about 20 to 30 closer to san jose. wind totals will be topped up around sonoma county. the mountaintop regions and around we are looking about a half-inch to an inch of rain. less for places like san jose and livermore. the timing of the rain looks to be mostly mid-day from 9:00 a.m. to noon. by mid afternoon and evening passing through san jose. we get a break thursday as those big waves start to approach the coast. second storm of the series arriving for friday evening. it'll likely bring those higher brain totals with it continuing as we go into saturday and the totals from late friday into saturday you can see the much higher numbers here could be looking at 1 to 2 inches of rain as we star

we will see temperatures reaching the upper half of the 60s for the northbay, as well.ger changes will kick in further down the line. let's look at our side-by-side forecast models, once we get to next week that is the next rain chance. we compare and contrast these long-range forecast models to see where they agree and where they disagree. where they agree is that there is a decent chance of rain moving in on wednesday. they disagree in terms of the intensity of that rainfall. the european forecast model is much more optimistic about bringing widespread rain across the entire bay area but they also disagree in terms of the lingering showers on thursday . one says, a good chance of lingering rainfall, the other says we will be completely dry and they also disagree next friday. holding rain further off the coast or bringing in another round of widespread rain across the bay area. we will keep an eye on the long-range forecast to narrow down differences and smooth things out as we get closer to next week. further down the line, new outlooks for one month and three months
