you have warm conditions across the northeast that will cause snow delayed.et weather continues. we know severe weather is a lot to do with el niÑo. take a look at the perspective with what transpired in the past week across the eastern u.s. and southern u.s. over 60 tornadoes. you take a look at the number of tornadoes and number of consecutive days of tornadoes. six consecutive days from 23rd of december to the 28th of december. the last time in 1982, an el niÑo year. that happened one other time with six straight days of december tornadoes. 1953. also an el niÑo year. we had a tornado with a 145 mile track. less than 1% of all tornadoes are falling into that category of ef-4. we had two of them in the past week. making this the deadliest month of 2015. this goes in line with what you expect in an el niÑo season. look at the temperature trend. in new york, it is still over 10 to 12 degrees above normal. when it cools off, it stays 4 to 5 degrees above normal into early next week. the warmer pattern, even though it is cold, considering, will be above average

the sentencing of a northeast iowa teenager charged in the traffic deaths of two siouxland girls last year--has been pushed back. 18-year-old trevor feauto of clarksville was supposed to be sentenced today. he pleaded gulity last month to two counts of felony vehicular homicide. prosecutors say feauto was driving drunk in august of last year when his pickup truck crashed into a car near breda, iowa. bailey jacobsen and lindsey quirk, both 16 and both of wall lake, iowa, were killed in the collision. the judge says he has some things to take into consideration before sentencing. feauto's attorney says after review of the pre- impact statements, a number of questions have been raised. the sentencing is now set for january 19th at the sac county courthouse. a south dakota prison inmate convicted in clay county has died. seventy-year-old frederick sealey passed away at a hospital in sioux falls following an extended illness. sealey was convicted of criminal pedophilia in 2001. he received a 35-year sentenced with 10-years suspended. a deer hunter was hurt in a weekend accident in palo alt
