construction workers robbed at gunpoint in a northeast d.c. neighborhood. tonight the victims are talking to fox 5 and police hope a clue we're about to show you will help solve this case. fox 5's wisdom martin back from the neighborhood now. >> we talked to two victims who didn't want their faces shown because there is an armed robber on the loose and there is also some video of the suspect captured by a security camera in one of those robberies. reporter: the most recent armed robbery happened in the 600 block of orleans place northeast. just after 6 p.m. this homeowner was sitting out front while his construction workers were finishing up for the day in the basement. >> the construction folks working in my house came up to me from the basement and said think just had gotten robbed at gunpoint. reporter: a suspect with a gun walked through an unlocked back gate, took their money, then took off running. >> well, it reminds me this is still a fairly dangerous neighborhood. at least you have concerns about your safety and you have to keep your eyes open. rep

there is a batch of rain that we have that is heaviest over washington, d.c., moving towards the northeast, all of it associated with a tricky storm system that we have had our eye on for the last couple of days. not only has it been a slow mover, it has begun to wrap within itself across the southeast. it has brought in very cold air. for that reason, it brought unbelievably cold temperatures to the southeast. snow reported as far south as alabama and northern portions of georgia. very unusual for this time of year. fortunately, it is just a rain event. you can see the cold air coming in behind the storm system. currently, 38 in atlanta. 38 in st. louis as well. these temperatures will be dropping down as this storm system moves in. here is your forecast. steady rain through the afternoon. scattered showers this evening. that is about it. drying out mainly after 4:00 p.m. this entire storm system will lift up to the north and east. most of us know tomorrow will be in west virginia, but the tail end of garrett county could seize note tomorrow morning, clearing up as the storm heads north a

d.c. restaurant are mourning the loss of a man killed in northeast washington this week. antonio perez worked at the argonaut d.c. restaurant in the eighth street corridor. police say he was shot early monday morning on edge wood street in northeast. he died at the hospital. coworkers say perez helped rebuild the restaurant after a fire destroyed it last year. no arrests have been made. >>> and eight d.c. statehood activists will be back in court today. the defendants were arrested and charged with misdemeanors back in april. they were among more than 40 protesters, including d.c. mayor vincent gray and half a dozen d.c. council members who were arrested back in april. the demonstrators blocked traffic on capitol hill and caused other disruptions while protesting the district's lack of voting representation in congress. if they're convicted, the group would face up to three months in prison -- i'm sorry. in jail and a $1,000 fine. >>> later today, mayor gray will announce plans to build two more walmart stores in d.c., there's already a plan to build four more stores here.
