alabama south of montgomery. doesn't mean montgomery you may not be in this because you're on the northern edge, but if we can hang in there another 20 minutes the threat will leave mississippi and it will be with alabama for a while. some of the thunderstorm cells, we're losing the heat of the day, the sun is going down, they will have to rain themselves out. we may not have as many tornado as we would have a few hours ago, but we have one i'm a little concerned about and it's moving if we can see it here, just on the last edge of your screen here as it makes its way into the south. some of these thunderstorms again south of montgomery are starting to fire up here as well. so we're going to have to wait a couple hours for that. again, the watches may be extended to include, of course, eastern areas of southern alabama into areas of southwestern georgia. but, again, this is at least good news we'll see possibly the threat come to an end because the tail end of this band of thunderstorms seems to be losing any of its grandiose development which is good news because we want to see this kind of rain themselves out. u

alabama, into texas. this morning, there was snow into the northern section of texas. and portions of oklahoma picked up several inches. most of that is gone now, as it moved in some warmer air. this precipitation is going to head across the south. low pressure off the virginia coast. right about here. we'll quickly move offshore. but as it moves offshore, the winds go back to the northwest. that allows the colder air to move in. any cold are air will at least for a time, turn back to wet snow. there's the storm. by late tomorrow night, after midnight or so. things will quickly clear out by thursday, sunshine returns for the weekend. another cold front. and pretty cold air expected by the second half of the weekend. east winds, 10 to 15 knots. and the bay temp now is up to 39 degrees. so tonight, look for partly cloudy skies. down around the freezing mark by morning. tomorrow, it will recover about 41. clouds, rain in the afternoon. by evening, look for wet snow. it will continue for a while into tomorrow night. in the city, maybe as much as an inch. maybe on the lawn
