that storm system just off the coastline, you can see some of the rain off the northern california coastline, right now the cold front bearing down on the bay area. it will bring with it more substantial rainfall overnight tonight. some places maybe over and ich of rain. so as we look toward the afternoon, partly cloudy skies, temperatures mild, 60s and some 70s. winds will kick up. at the coastline, 20, 25 miles an hour gusting, it's going to be pretty good as this system comes through. tonight rain developing right off the coast here so it is going to slam right into us tonight and into early tomorrow morning. then it looks like it will begin to turn to showers. computer models picking up on it pretty well as you see the storm system coming through. the main cold front starting to impact the bay area about 10:00 tonight according to the computer models and then through the midnight hour it slides by and tomorrow morning scattered showers, even the possibility of some isolated thunderstorms. so pretty interesting night tonight indeed, especially this early in the season to see this kind of

the biggest man hunt in recent history in northern california is over. the county sheriff says aaron was shot and killed outside fort bragg today. he was walking down a logging road when authorities spotted him and opened fire around noon. the sheriff says he raised his high powered rifle, but did not fire. he was hit seven times in the torso and died nearly instantly. local and federal authorities had been combing the forest for more than a month after he reportly shot and killed a fort bragg councilman. he is suspected of killing a county land trust officer. just two days ago, alameda county sheriff deputies got in a shootout. officers found him today with the help of a blood hound dog after he reportedly burglarized a store. we'll have more tonight at 11:00. >>> he allegedly shot the councilman in august as he investigated an illegal marijuana growing operation. tonight, asked about the problem plaguing northern california neighborhoods. >> medical marijuana groves are turning up in more neighborhoods across the state and with that, investigators say

prosecutor for northern california says the first targets will be large pot clubs that are operating near schools, parks and other areas where children are close by. >>> shark fin soup will be illegal in california. today governor brown signed a bill that bans the possession and sale of imported shark fins. the law is intended to curb the practice of cutting the fin off of a live shark and then throwing it back into the water. critics say that since it's already illegal, the new ban is unnecessary and discriminatory against the chinese culture. the ban on importing fins takes effect january 1. fins already in the state can be sold until july of 2013. >>> and the governor also signed a bill intended to make gas pipeline safer in california. state senator leland yee of san francisco wrote the law in response to the san bruno disaster last year. the bill requires utilities to install automatic and remotely controlled shutoff valves on pipelines that cross seismic faults or are locate within what is called a high consequence area such as san bruno. >>> a federal judge in oakland has ruled
