heading into that time of year where we're going to hit significant fire weather and knowing northern california as we are now but eventually southern california, one of the most effective ways to stop the fires from growing is that initial attack, which means we need to be able to quickly put resources up in the air and move them. i guess my question is from a national guard perspective, from a naval perspective, with the helicopter resources down there, do you feel you would be able to quickly move those resources and you have the agreements in place. we'll start with the national guard and work on our way down. >> although we're advertised as a one week a month and two weekends a year, i've got crews on pretty much every day and if cal fire calls i can get crews out in just a matter of hours. we did do that about two months ago, the robbers fire, and it worked out real well. cal fire went in real aggressive and put out the fire in a short period of time. so there's no issue with us being immediately available, we've got our buckets, crew trained. >> as an example of

jet stream is going to just motier in off the pacific, and it's going to point right towards northern california. that's where the heaviest rains are going to be, up in the santa rosa area. that's because that's where the jet stream wants to stay. when you look at that satellite, you don't need me to tell you it's going to rain. now, organizing it and getting it together and the timing on this will be the trick. we have seen weather pat everyones like this before. this is not that atypical, but it's a good one. it's going to be productive for rainfall. could be bad if it doesn't get us those breaks. we have a break coming here and there, but those breaks are going to be crucial. this is one of those deals where i'm not going to sit here tonight ask say this is exactly how it's going to go. i'm going to tell you it's going to be wet. there's nobody that can tell you the timing on these yet. they just can't. so these are going to be kind of coming at us. but we're going to be fine, we're goes to get a lot of rain, especially in the north bay. you can worry some about the rivers and the creeks, we'

so from there in northern california you're going to be seeing that very high risk. that is a very heigl vags in the rockies, snowfall up to about 30, even 60 cent meters of snow in some of these higher areas. if you have plans on traveling across the area, any flights, do they can in on them ahead of time because this is going to be messy and potentially dangerous. talking about the snow, look at spain. cold air spilling across the north. in spain, that cold air mixed with a little bit of precipitation is ending up looking like this. i want to show you a video actually coming out of this area where the snowfall has been coming down and winter has reached spain as temperatures continue to plunge. the country has issued snow alerts in 16 cities where the snow has forced local authorities to close many roads. fortunately, the snow is not always a negative impact, though. here in sierra nevada granada, the people are getting out there and enjoying it as the winter sports resort opened up here. so good news, not everybody is looking down on this in a negative aspect. man
