kauai a racing legacy here in northern california.we are here at the petaluma speedway where the johnson family spent many weekend racing their winged sprint cars. the family now is in mourning over a terrible weekend racing tragedy. the johnson family's muffler shot is a growing memorial to the 14-year-old marcus johnson. he was one of two people killed on saturday by an out of the control race car at a speed p way north of sacramento. the was war driven by husband own cousin who attended petaluma high school. the two were as close as brothers and an investigation into the crash is now underway but the boy's grandfather says that the steering wheel on the car may have come loose. >> it clipped. we have not analyzed the car yet. it has been impounded by the sheriff in marysville. we will get the car back and analyze it but the steering wheel either came off or the shaft broke. >> marcus would have been 15 and chase will be 18 but they were really, really close, a close knit family. couldn't have a better family. >> the family raced th

heading into that time of year where we're going to hit significant fire weather and knowing northern california as we are now but eventually southern california, one of the most effective ways to stop the fires from growing is that initial attack, which means we need to be able to quickly put resources up in the air and move them. i guess my question is from a national guard perspective, from a naval perspective, with the helicopter resources down there, do you feel you would be able to quickly move those resources and you have the agreements in place. we'll start with the national guard and work on our way down. >> although we're advertised as a one week a month and two weekends a year, i've got crews on pretty much every day and if cal fire calls i can get crews out in just a matter of hours. we did do that about two months ago, the robbers fire, and it worked out real well. cal fire went in real aggressive and put out the fire in a short period of time. so there's no issue with us being immediately available, we've got our buckets, crew trained. >> as an example of that, 2007 we saw -- 2003

we have 33 indian tribes in the northern district of california, most people don't know, and i've met with those people. i've met with the muslim community, with the siekh american community, with the lgbq community, with the human rights commission in san francisco, all kinds of people, and we talk about all kinds of things. we talk about things that are more common to the u.s. attorney. we talk about fraud and identify theft and hate crimes and civil rights issue and there's one thing that comes up in absolutely every conversation that i have had with people in the district, and that was bullying. and it really, it was, it's not surprising to the people in this room, i know. it was not surprising to me but it was troubling to me that in every community that i was meeting with, this was an issue prrp violence, harassment, physical, cyber, social, children on children, this kind of behavior is so disturbing and so troubling and so heartbreaking to so many people. even in this place, even in san francisco, california and northern california, which has got to be if not the most tolerant

so, i've served dozens of northern california cities and counties. i have conducted over 300 audits. i have audited hundreds of bond issuance, including a couple that would be interesting to note. one, the oakland coliseum refinancing when the raiders moved back into los angeles was one of the most complicated bond financing deals in northern california, and i was involved both on the county of alameda side and the city of oakland side because i was the partner in charge of both the those audits at the time. also when the city and county of san francisco had a lawsuit regarding the 1997 bond funds of the school district, the city attorney's office hired me as a expert witness in helping to compile some of the information needed to go to court. the mission of my cpa firm is to help government improve their internal administrative operationses. so, my passion for community service aligns directly with my, with my profession as well. it's what i know and what i love. the prior community service that i have that i think would be helpful in this role is t
