what i'm watching for the weekend, a chance of some showers moving in to far northern california. that would be amazing. but this line just kind of falls apart as it moves into the bay area. at least some rain close by. this wouldn't be unheard of to get some rain in the middle to end of september, but this time of the year, we start to head out of our extremely dry month into some of our wetter months. it would be nice to see that, but it doesn't look like we'll get a lot out of that but we'll have a cool down and our temperatures from the low to mid 90s to the mid 70s this weekend. that is going to be amazing and it's going to help clear out our air quality just a bit. looking at san francisco, low clouds and we may have drizzle for saturday as the temperatures only reach the low 60s. that's a cool down from the 70s we're starting with this week. mike, heading out the door how is it looking for the commute? >> very calm. time to give you a cool down. i like that. no major problems or additional issues for the debris, but i marked that into san francisco. 580 a crash around 150.

we have so many fires burning and just in northern california there are ten active fires. you can see all the hot spots that we have up around redding and some of that smoke will be moving into ukiah as well as northern sonoma county. as we watch our air quality improve our temperatures are dropping. for the south bay the low 80s today, for san jose, and for morgan hill reaching 86 degrees. many of these temperatures five degrees cooler than yesterday and hayward reaching 77, also 77 in palo alto, san mateo reaching 73. downtown san francisco, 66 today. and santa rosa reaching 76. still pretty warm in ukiah. that's where it's going to be smoky today. a lot of changes ahead. we're looking at a storm system that will be approaching the pacific northwest by the weekend. this could bring in some rain. some of the models are holding it together with a chance of showers. mainly some very light rain, but this is really going to be beneficial across part of northern california dealing with the fire. around ukiah, that could help with fire containment and also bring us some cooler
