nigel: a fire tore through a historic church in northern new jersey early this morning. officials say the fire caused significant damage. officials say the building's roof collapsed. no injuries are reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. the structure was originally built in and housed an episcopal 1827 congregation for many years. the church was sold to another group last year. gabrielle: nearly 200 muslim employees at a meat packing plant in colorado say they were fired after they walked off the job over a prayer dispute. according to one of the employees, depending on the season, the muslim workers prayed at different times of the day. but a decision was recently made at the plant to change the practice. employees work on an assembly line, only one or two at a time could use a prayererrea. the workers walked off the job in protest. company officials said they were fired for violating company rules, and missing three days of work with no explanation. >> the supervisors were convened to a meeting and they were told that the policy has changed t

the big cut off north of i-84 but heavy had feet of snow in northern new jersey, hudson valley. close to the connecticut coast amounts close to a foot. west orange a foot and a half and climbing. la guardia over 20 inches, hicksville 19, york town about start to get to the cut off in northern westchester county. granite 11 inches and bridgeport coming in at 7. we're in the home stretch of this now. a little whole there but that's going to curve offshore. this band is still pretty impressive. heavy snow on the island. this is going to take you until midnight or more to get out of here. heavy snows are getting a little lighter. we're finally seeing a little bit of a drop off in sussex and morris but it's still pretty heavy in morris county. there it is over new york city, sheep's head bay. it's that heavy band from long island and northern new jersey and then you see the lighter snow over ocean county. this is the final sign that we're seeing the final stages of the snow. meteorologist jeff smith is playing in the snow again. it's >> reporter: you know what's interesting, the stor

icy conditions expected around monticello, northern new jersey and back into the poconos. all rain for the city and coastal areas. the temperatures are in the 40s. but there will be slick spots between 3:00 a.m. and 7:00, 8:00 in the morning. still the temperature is around freezing in monticello. it's very light icing, not expecting big accumulations. and by midday it's warming up and everything is melting. sunday much colder air moves in maybe north and west you'll see light accumulation with that as the winds come in across the lake. in terms of rainfall totals with, anywhere from 1/4 to 1/2. tonight, temperatures stay pretty mild in most spots. except pockets north and west where with temperatures are down below freezing. north and west you'll have icy patches but they'll start to melt by 8:00 certainly as the warmer air comes in. heavy rain for long island and coastal connecticut, same thing in the city but it does clear out by noon. we'll see some sun tomorrow actually in the afternoon and another 48 to 50 degree day. but sunday is colder in the 30s and on the holida
