temperatures 12 degrees or so for scotland, 13 for northern ireland, but still some relative warmth across westerly direction on thursday, pushing the brightest of the weather into eastern scotland, eastern areas of england with always a bit more in the cloud for the west. relatively mild, temperatures 12—17dc, but then come the big changes. what starts off as a little push of warm air moving into alaska is going to have big ripple effects fax with the jet stream. colder air plunges down across the northeast of the united states, the effect that has on the atlantic is we start to get some warm air pushing up the western side of the atlantic. this warm air is significant because that warm air moving northwards, what that does is it builds a big area of high pressure well to the west of the uk, blocking the mild airfrom moving into the uk and instead the contents of the arctic get emptied out all over the united kingdom into the weekend ahead. so, it is going to turn significantly colder right towards the end of the week, but more especially into next weekend. it will be cold enough for some
