maybe around 17 or 18 in the brighter spots across northern scotland. rain gradually ease off, for many at least, into the north sea. there will be some drier, clearer moments around. across scotland, northern ireland, with a north—westerly flow developing, it will feel a bit fresher here into tomorrow morning. temperatures in the teens for much of central and eastern england. that's because here we start the day with the cloud. there will be some outbreaks of rain on and off and through the day it's down these eastern counties that we could see some lively, potentially thundery showers. away from that, after some morning sunshine the shower clouds build up, but there will be some staying completely dry. a better chance in southern counties of england, wales and western scotland. where you've got the cloud today sunshine will be a bit more abundant tomorrow in between the downpours, meaning it should feel a touch warmer. a cool night will follow to take us into thursday. shower clouds will develop once again after a bright start. a bit more cloudy in nor

and in fact, after a fine day across, northern scotland will stay clear and cool overnight. we�*ll have this swathe of cloud with outbreaks of rain — northern ireland, southern scotland, northern england, perhaps north wales. but on either side we should see some sunshine bar the odd shower around. so we should see temperatures a little bit higher, 22 degrees in the south and the winds will be lighter here as well. but the next frontal system starts to work it�*s way in. this area of low pressure, will be a deepening feature. so the winds will start to pick up through tuesday night. across the south, rain will push its way northwards, however, the northern half of scotland remaining dry with clear skies and remaining on the cool side. now this unseasonably deep area of low pressure will move across the country during wednesday, so this is more like an autumnal scene rather than early august. we�*ll see gales through the channel, gusts in excess of 50 miles an hour here. 30 to a0 miles an hour, further north. across england and wales, inland, some heavy rain as well. but again

a little bit of sunshine poking out to northern scotland and across wales and parts of southern england showed you on the satellite picture will continue to develop and will start to swing its way in. and this one will bring quite widespread outbreaks of rain and a swathe of strong winds just running in to its southern flank. so quite wet weather for northern ireland, northern england, some heavy rain also pushing into wales in the south—west, but it is across the south—west of england, really along the south coast, that we could get gusts of around a0 or 50 miles an hour, 50 to 60 perhaps across parts of northern france and the channel islands. that is likely to lead to some localised disruption. a few trees down in the ferries across the channel could be affected by those strong winds and large waves as well. across northern scotland, that's probably where we'll have the best of the dry weather with some sunshine coming through. temperatures not that special across the north, not that special anywhere to be honest. highs of about 17—21. that low pressure pulls away and for thursday th
