i remember 20 years ago when i was in high school growing up in northern virginia, near alexandria, you know, one of my first exposure of the revolutionary and george washington, going to mount vernon and waiting in school, excitedly to get to the revolution in high school we did learn about the revolution and it was all of a half hour class and it was more about the causes and more about the effects and yeah, there was a battle at lexington and yorktown but if you want to learn more about that read on your own or whatever. it was like i've been waiting to find out about this in class and it was blown over in a couple sentences. that's where, you know, personally that's where i think like the places, being able to go to the tavern, go to brandywine battlefield, go to the places where the actual history happened, is great because you actually go there and learn from the site and from people who are knowledgeable about the importance of these places and that history that often times is kind of blown through in school or classrooms, you know, teachers have all sorts of competing interests
