you get far into northwestern new jersey and we'll see this advisory go until 11:00 a.m. we have a 12-hour period here of wet slippery weather. temperatures are below freezing for monticello and andover. that's where we could potentially see some light snowfalling and also the rain. everybody else sees the icy mix start to end by dawn. the warm air changes to sleet and regular rain. slick spots in the colder areas and heavy rain is the focus. it's not necessarily what winter weather it will produce. we've seen light snow north and west, look at everything go pink. that's a mix of sleet and rain. a lot of change over to rain. two lightning bolts right over sullivan county as this clashing of the air masses happens and it's a fight and a battle between the cold and the warm. eventually the warm will win out and we'll see everything changing to rain and potentially an inch and a half of rainfall. that could spell trouble for the morning commute. not only will you need your rain gear but extra time. this could produce two inches of rainfall for southern new jersey and may see

there is also some patchy fog across parts of the area, most specifically across northwestern new jersey into higher elevations and up route is 7 in going up towards orange county and sullivan county. fox is on some roadways. be aware of that if you're we're starting to pick up shower activity up towards the ski resorts and western new york and western pennsylvania but our main focus is on area of low pressure approaching us from the southwest. it es loaf indicated right around western portions of virginia the at moment. it will be moving just towards our southeast as we go through the overnight. so it will be close enough to throw back some shower activity across our area, probably starting after about 9:00 or 10:00 with steady rainfall possible across extreme eastern long island because you will be closest to the area of low pressure. areas north and west of the city you probably miss out on much of the rainfall. clouds will be in place through the overnight. if you're looking for mild temperatures, you have to headway south. southern florida is the warm spot on the map for tomorrow wi

area in the pennsylvania are included as well as mercer county and couple other spots in northwestern, new jersey perhaps if you are a commuter in new york you might run into that. storm scan three basically quiet at this point. we have a fog issue but no precipitation on this map just yet, we will zoom it out and you will will's find two pieces of the jet stream trying to meet up. all a though we are dealing with the front crossing through we will not have the the major weather-related issues beyond that point other than more chillies settling in. for now this moisture getting drawn in. we will see that build in by tonight. we will be fine with the cold air mass across the midsection of the you had, that is not an issue whatsoever. lets take a look at these temperatures. the here's where we stand, 47 in wilmington and airport. more color up through poconos and allentown area where we saw that fog settling in the the lehigh valley region. still mild off to the south. we will see that build in. i want to walk you through future weather here just a couple showers later today we may see steady rain

there's a couple of more sprinkles moving into parts of the poconos northwestern new jersey and the catskills. so you can't rule that out. here's the cloud cover and at times a little bit of drizzle tvs steady around 50, 51 degrees through the early part of the afternoon. then falling a little down to 49 by 5 p.m. low 50s by later on tonight. you see by later tonight a steadier batch of rain moving in. so midnight to 3 a.m. is probably the time window for steady rain from that especially from the city and points north. 9:00 tomorrow morning upper 50s. you have a couple of showers left over but in the afternoon, a few sunny breaks out there. enough brightening, as a matter of fact, to get our temperature up to 64 by 2 p.m. that would break a record. 67 by that point in belmar. cooler northeast of the city around 60 and another batch of showers moves by tomorrow evening. so tomorrow not going to be rain-free. but definitely warm during the middle part of the day. and then much colder air comes in during the day on monday. cold enough so that as rain moves in from the south and west monday night

heavy rain through the capital district of new york now and extends southward through the hudson valley and in to northern jersey, northwestern jersey, specifically. here is the live storm tracker doppler radar up close an personal. look how the yellow and orange advanced even farther to the east into albany now. we were tracking it back here. there was lightning strikes back here, to the southern portion of this picture, but no more lightning strikes at least for the time being. i'll keep tracking it to let you know if they appear. here's the leading edge of it tracking off to the northeast at 55 miles an hour. it's really hauling. this brings it into the hartford springfield area after 7:00 p.m. this evening. water bury, vermont, springfield, keene just about 8:00 p.m. worcester, just after 8:00 p.m. providence to boston, inch i-95 evening. everybody is going to get rain out of this, at the very least, get into a heavier shower, you'll get more rain of course, that stands to reason. good news is the snowy part or the bad news if you love snow is we are in the mild air for sure. this is the future cast data showing the rain
