. >> thank you, president norton. i would like to invite dr. brent stevens to the podium to make the first presentation of the rave distinguished serve award. >> thank you, superintendent carranza. it is my happy to present to you robert brecer and he has been nominated for a rave award. he is a former french teacher and taught in minnesota and moved to california to become a teacher and is one of those rare administrators who comes up through the ranks to become the leader of his own staff at alerado and served as principal for 6 years and during that time he has been instrumental in a number of important pieces of work. that includes leading trainings for staff around supporting english language learners and instrumental in bringing reading partners to the school and he has also been working with the pta to create a support network and a literacy network to support the struggling readers. most recently he has been reading by design to introduce writing strategies to all of the classes. and in my brief stint of work i have had a chance to see
