as we take a look at our highs this afternoon, we're headed for 73 in novato.utside, going to the park and take it in. today is the day to leave the windows open and let in that breeze. tomorrow we'll be closing the windows and turning on the air-conditioning. fairfield heading up to 88 degrees and 89 in concord. scots valley up to 82 and in oakland 83 degrees, while novato is going to see highs in the mid-80s. it gets even hotter from there. the spike in the peak of those temperatures will hit us on thursday, reaching 87 in moraga, los gatos 91 degrees. these 90-degree temperatures may be the earliest we've ever had weather this hot this early in the season. and i know a lot of people are going to try to find somewhere to cool off, but you do have to be really careful near the coastline. we can see sneaker waves and swells reaching up to about 12 feet. high pressure with us just briefly, ramping up those temperatures across california, and then once it moves out we have a couple of cold front that will be sweeping through, possibly even a chance of rain next w

will also be 71 in mountain view today and upper 60s for much of the east bay with a high of a 66 in novatomorrow it's just a little bit cooler, as we get these early morning showers moving in, as our temperatures reach into the mid-60s we're going to see rain tapering off. here's the rain we've been talking about. this is headed our way, reaching into the north bay late this afternoon, into the evening. here we are at 5:00 to 6:00, we start to see rain moving into san francisco. this may have impacts to your evening commute, especially if you're a later commuter. we'll see spotty rain, some of the heavier rain overnight. there may be lingering showers by early tomorrow, just here and there a slight chance. overall we'll see rain coming through overnight. the first round of rain brings us lighter amounts of rainfall, south of the golden gate bridge about 0.1 or less, could be 0.25 or more for parts of the north bay. as we see more storm systems coming in, we could see rainfall totals over 1 inch here in the north bay, while the sierra is still very low with the snowpack. it has been increas

fairfield reaching 75. 68 degrees in novato and we'll see a high of about 62 in hayward as well as sanrancisco. now, we want to get talking about how dry it's been, it's great to get the rain last week but we may not see rain again until monday and even then it looks like it's in and out of here so quickly, we may not measure a lot out of that and then heading back to the storm track farther to the north. how are we doing with our water year? we are right now santa rosa measuring over 25 inches of rain, but we are at a deficit of over six inches of rain. that's just to catch up to normal. oakland not doing so bad there. we could get three-quarters of an inch of rain with one storm. we measured over 16 inches of rain there. you can see how we're running the deficits across the bay area and then when we look at our reservoirs across the state, a lot are only at about 30% of capacity when you look at new malonis lake and trinity lake and lake mcclure only 38% capacity, low levels there and low sierra snowback, 35% of the normal amount on the ground and central around lake tahoe 40% of the
