we're headed for upper 70s for novato. novato and napa oakland, up to 68 degrees and 75 for dublin. san jose will see a high of 77, and we're in for a warm up starting tomorrow, which is our first day of summer. we will start to see those temperatures heading upwards, so i'll have more on that. and looking ahead to a hot weekend coming to the bay area that's coming up in just a few minutes. back to you. well, now to the latest on the point fire burning in sonoma county. fire officials telling us it is now 50% contained. now since it broke sunday, it has burned 1200 acres, destroying two structures and sending a firefighter to the hospital. it has caused poor air quality in the area, especially in the north and east bays. an air quality advisory has been extended into today. as for the sites fire, it is just 5% contained. this morning we found that out. now it's burned more than 15,000 acres and forced the evacuation of campgrounds at east park reservoir in colusa county. that fire first broke out on monday. coming up the l.a. school district approves a ban on cell phones. what the d

and those numbers warming up to 77 in novato.nd then we're at a warm 84 here in concord, 84 livermore. and look at that. 84 also in santa rosa. now, as we roll through this weekend, i am anticipating this area of hot high pressure to stay to the south. the main reason why that's not going to bring us one hundredths is the storm track. it's just kind of checking it and saying, nope, you're not going to move in. there's no way, no how. so we will stay out of the one hundreds. but with that storm track moving a little bit closer, it will be breezy to windy at times for us. we're expecting some on and off wind gusts here out of the northwest 15 to 35. i'll show you more about the highest fire danger in northern california coming up in about a minute. but i did also want to touch on the fact that when that wind kicks up, we've got olive and especially grasses in the high category. so you certainly may be dealing with your allergies this weekend. just know this now so you can do what you got to do to get over it. so you can enjoy your

so seven degrees cooler in napa and novato, novato 13 and livermore.o as we go into tomorrow, though, it's slow to burn off. the fog lingers a little bit. and then we warm. but because we start off slow, we end up with temperatures, daytime highs tomorrow probably in the in the mid 80s, upper 80s in the cool spot in the warmest spots. pardon me. so here's the fog footprint in the morning hours. burns back and then you see the temperature contours. you can see the microclimates clearly coast bay inland and then the far inland valleys. we could see some low 90s in our warmest bay area. valleys place like, well outside of antioch you could see 90, 93 livermore, 88 tomorrow. concord 84. really quite a pleasant day. but if you go east a few more miles into the big valley, you're going to find temperatures that are pretty, pretty darn hot. pretty, not super pleasant like upper upper 90s. perhaps maybe even low and hundreds. but for us, we've got a nice run of weather. the sea breeze is in, the natural air conditioning is back and the weather for the weekend

we're up by five in novato. we go to the inner east bay, up by five in livermore, in san jose, also down by four. getting into the second part of the afternoon, though we do expect temperatures to come up and be above where we were yesterday and above average for our inland cities right now, 60 degrees reported in san francisco, 70 degrees in napa. we have upper 70s to low 80s for our inland east bay, and 72 degrees in san jose around the bay mid 60s in hayward. so an enjoyable one for most. let's go to the north bay. take a look at a few more numbers here. the warmer spots windsor right now reporting 79. healdsburg reporting 80. as we get toward the peninsula we have temperatures ranging from mid 70s in woodside to upper 70s near stanford and to the inner east bay. we go where again, these are the areas that will see some of the hotter temperatures getting into to tomorrow nearing 100 degrees or so. 82 in alamo, 81 in clayton, 80 degrees in danville. our inland cities typically warm a good five, even ten degree

if you're heading out to the novato art, wine, and music festival this weekend, temperatures will continue to run average heading through saturday and sunday, mid-70s for highs with a mix of clouds and sunshine both halves of the weekend. a little baby warm-up is in store for us next week. you see the ten-day outlook for livermore, 90s a couple days and then retreat to much closer to normal temperatures for most of the rest of next week. let's look at the seven-day forecast and start with the inland locations which will hover around 80 degrees for highs tomorrow, saturday and sunday. some of the very warmest spots get farther into the 80s. temperatures around the bay also close to normal, right around 70 degrees friday, saturday, and sunday. the little baby warm-up next week sends temperatures a little farther into the 70s, but i don't think 80s are imminent for bayside locations. along the coast, you'll notice more june gloom, the fog, low cloud cover tough to shake saturday and sunday. next week you warm up a few degrees farther into the 60s. you'll see more sunshine after a foggy start
