into a beautiful weekend forecast right around the corner, starting up in the north bay areas like novato all the way up into santa rosa are topping off in the mid to upper 60s in the forecast today. a little bit cooler along the coast. i mean, half moon bay this afternoon at 60 degrees. we're sitting at 64, in redwood city, 65 in san jose. this is a great day to get out there and get some fresh air. and as we see the next couple of days right around the corner, we're going to continue to warm up as we head into our saturday and sunday forecast with beautiful, mild conditions each day. now, this afternoon alone, we could see gusts up to around 2020 five miles per hour in our inland spots, actually pushing offshore along the coast. we're getting that coastal influence, bringing in breezy conditions and nice mild, humid conditions into the evening hours. tonight the winds will die down into the overnight hours tonight, and we're left with a sunny day again tomorrow. but the rain returns right around the corner as we head into monday, tuesday and wednesday of next week. we'll start seeing th

today it will be 59, in san francisco as well as oakland and 57 in novato. going into tomorrow. it's basically a repeat of today, but we are going to see a better chance of rain, and some of that rain may be heavy at times. it continues into thursday with our highs only making it into the low to mid 50s so well below normal temperatures for this time of year. and this first round of rain comes in at about 1 to 2:00 in the morning for the peninsula and parts of the santa cruz mountains moving into the south bay. and then it looks like a mainly from san francisco to the east bay on southward is where we will have the best chance of getting some rain early tomorrow morning. a bit of a break in the activity with some pop up showers, and then more activity early on thursday, and then notice the change in the colors there. that's because it could drop some snow on mount hamilton and some of our higher elevations around the bay. before this system completely clears out, we're looking at the possibility of getting about a quarter to possibly half inch of rain from half moon bay down to

and for the north bay, 68 in napa and 69 in novato. so rain chances next week. we've been talking about the chance here of two different storm systems. and we started hinting at the fact yesterday that the storm for monday is developing more off to the south. and we're still kind of seeing that showing up on our forecast models and really what the thinking is about this. so this is really lowering our chances quite a bit on monday's forecast. but beyond that, next wednesday, this would be the day here with some widespread rain for the bay area. so right now we've taken away most of the rain on monday. only a spotty chance. but next wednesday, three quarters to about 1.5in also could get in on some wind, maybe gusts up to about 50mph. so on that 7-day forecast, there it is. saturday sunday sun clouds going to be real nice. low 60s in san francisco. spotty chance of some showers on monday. and then that better, better rain still hanging on next wednesday's forecast. so tomorrow tgif a little bit early 67 and sunny. yeah, yeah. don't change that. keep that, keep th

got you to 57 here in clear lake and 60 in novato. rain chances next week are still on the table for us by monday. but the thing that i'm following that could be a little troubling in terms of getting that rainfall is the way this might kind of build in from the south. that's never good for us in terms of getting strong rainfall, but we're still holding on to that possibility. totals right now are decent, anywhere from a third of an inch to about an inch. but if it moves more off towards the south over the next 24 hours, at least that development, these totals may actually lower, i think through the next seven days the better, better rain. where we really got to watch out would get here by next wednesday's forecast. that storm could bring anywhere from one to about two inches of rain, maybe some wind 20 to about 45mph. so next wednesday, that looks like kind of the strongest here out of that 7-day forecast. and friday, saturday, sunday, hurry up and get here. i'm looking forward to that. we agree. yeah, i could see it. yes. thanks, je

we do see lighter winds north of the golden gate bridge, but a 16 mile per hour wind gusts now in novato under ten at concord buchanan field. but these winds will increase 10 to 20mph out of the northwest during the afternoon hours. because we're sandwiched in between two systems, this one due east, that provided up to a little over a half an inch of rain in throughout the santa cruz mountains yesterday, then this one is our incoming system. behind it we have several impulses, this first one not really affecting us right here, right now, but it will begin to descend on the bay area this evening. take a look at our futurecast. you see, by 7:00 8:00 tonight. mostly cloudy skies by tomorrow morning. set up at 636. not going to see it. mostly cloudy to the north of us. light precipitation throughout mendocino and lake county. pop up showers here and there about this time tomorrow. but it's nothing. not a lot in accumulation under a 10th of an inch. but then here we go on your tuesday, and we start to set the stage for a wednesday system. there you have 1:00 in the afternoon, a little break i

and for the north bay 50 right down here to novato, 59. so some scattered on and off rain chances. next couple of days, we'll get into what looks to be the better bet here. widespread heavier rain once we hit next monday's forecast, and we likely could hang on to so on and off chances into next tuesday. so as we get a look at next monday, primarily the bulk of that rainfall and into next tuesday, you'll see those totals anywhere from a half to maybe 1.5in up towards guerneville. so that looks to be the more active day on that 7-day forecast. so you can see it right here. spotty chances next two days dried out this weekend. and then there we go next monday looking like a better bet of a storm coming in. that could really add up our totals. we'll take more looks at the sierra snow and also that rainfall chances into next week coming up at 530. and we need the rain. we desperately do. yeah. all right jeff, thanks. coming up, the fine arts museums of san francisco are facing a major decision. the cuts that could be i'm not happy with the way that pg&e handled the wildfires. yeah. yeah.
