so, ben, novo nordisk, eli lilly standing to make literally hundreds of billions of dollars on this.ght now? >> i would have said it was until about a week ago, and novo nordisk had become the most valuable stock in europe. lilly is up a ton. both stocks have pulled back, and if you're the kind who likes to buy the dip and a momentum investor, probably would be a pretty decent time to go in and pick these up. but if you're thinking very long term the, i think you have to worry that a lot of the good news is priced into these stocks at this point. you hear analysts talk about really being only two stocks in pharma that you can own and that's novo and lilly, and i think at some point you do have to worry about competitors, prices under pressure a little bit and maybe just not as profitable as a people think, and then the stocks would be priced kind of to perfection. jack: got it. >> you would think that the health insurance stocks might get hit. they have not been. jack: and they probably figure if they do cover it, they'll just pass the prices on to the rest or of us. >> maybe. jack:

so what that means is, is that the manufacturer, novo nordisk, which is based in denmark, they just can'te the drug fast enough to meet the demand. and so when the shortage happens, it just means that people go into the pharmacies with their ozempic prescriptions or wegovy. they're having to go to a different pharmacy or try to find something online and it opens the door for other kinds of imitation medications called compounded versions for those to become increasingly popular because they're cheaper than the brand name drug ozempic. >> so how do you get those? >> is it also through pharmacies and do they work just as well, or are they safe? >> so it's not regulated by the fda and the fda actually put out a warning label about some of these kind of copycat or mimic compounded versions of the drugs. but there are a handful of physicians, especially plastic surgeons and folks who work in wellness spa that are prescribing compounded ozempic. it's like another version of semaglutide in order to give their patients like a $500 version as opposed to a $1,300 version of the brand name. and beca

novo nordisk has dethroned luxury goods giant lvmh which boasts brands like louis vuitton and tiffany'sof wegovy and ozempic have skyrocketed in recent months. and listen to this. the company's ceo says it could take years, years to catch up to the current demand. cnn medical correspondent meg tirrell joins us now. so meg, you spoke with the ceo. what did he share with you? >> we did, boris. you know, these short ngz of wegovy have been going on for a few months. we expected maybe they would go on for a few months longer. but in this conversation he noted they just haven't been able to make enough to satisfy the massive demand they're seeing for these medicines. here's what he told us. >> i think you've limited some of the starter doses for patients trying to begin the medicine so that you can supply patients who are already on the medicine at the higher doses. how long do you expect that to have to continue? >> yeah, we decided to limit those higher doses because it's really important that patients who start on treatment can titrate up to the maintenance doses. when will this stop? wel

you don't have to sit around i think novo-nordisk will get approval for ozempic, that was a huge move agilent. jefferies says 5% decrease in china sales growth could affect the medical tools industry. are you worried about that? they're going through a tough economic time. >> that is something to factor in. probably one reason why a name like agilent, historically averaged 27 times earnings. now you get it trades in line with the market despite the fact you have double the growth. investors are really being compensated for that. and that is really largely factored into the stock price today. liz: we had jeff sica and jason katz they both like energy depending on the time. so do you but you prefer to play it with one particular name. what is it? >> pioneer resources is an interesting one today. it is exploration and production company. right now you get it for about 11 times earnings, six times ebidta. what we like about it they have a 3% dividend yield but they have been buying back a ton of shares. last year their total shareholder yield, dividend yield plus the amountth repurchasing
