the nsc program is an amazing program ebut it's a very competitive inone and fewer than half of us can sites are rewarded nationally last year and fiscal year 2021. we did receive a grant in 2020. red tape has caused delays despite the award we have not been able to implement the grant yet . and i agree with many of the statements that rabbi cytron-walker mentioned about ways to cut down the time in order to implement the grant and ways to perhaps advance monies to allow the process to begin. although its mention in the program, perhaps something can be done immediately in order to protect the sites. and i can hardly emphasize how time sensitive this matter is in addressing it. i also feel that perhaps we need more funds in order to allow for everyone that needs to be protected to be protected perhaps 500 million should be appropriated to protect these sites and ensure security. i appreciate that our representatives in washington , they maintain close contact with officials at the department of homeland security . conference of presidents and others with strong support for the elements
