nsda has become less of a figurehead for free speech and more of a detriment to what true free speechually is. >> martha: you could not be more right, lawrence. as i said, the entire point of debate societies is to pick an argument and to make that argument as forcefully as you can. if you go on from this experience, james, and become a lawyer who argues cases in court you will have a client who may be guilty of something or may have done something that people don't even think deserves a defense but that is your job. you have to take that perspective. so how are these judges able to keep their positions when they are not training these young individuals to do that? >> that's the million dollar question. when my first article came out the nsda refused to denounce judges that said things if you are white, don't talk about how issues affect other races. it is unamerican and incumbent upon the national debate and speech association to kick out the bias judges and bring free speech back to high school debate. that's what i'm doing. we have to bring diversity and civility of view back to th
