on behalf of the ntsb and all the men and women that ntsb we want to extend our deepest condolencess. we are charged by congress to investigate all u.s. civil aviation accidents as well as major significant accidents in other modes, rail, highway, marine and pipeline. our job is not just to determine the probable cause but issue safety recommendations so these accidents are prevented in the future. we arrived at 9:30 a.m. this morning so we have little new information. what i can tell you is that we know on april 10, 2014, 5:40 p.m. in orland california a fedex truck with two semi trailers southbound on i-5, it left the southbound lanes and crossed a 60-foot median. it struck a motor coach traveling north bound on i-5. the impact stopped the forrered motion of the motor coach and -- forward motion of the motor coach and both vehicles directed off the highway. a fire ensured. the motor coach was carrying high school students and they were traveling to humboldt state university. there has been a lot of discussion about the fact it was part of a convoy of three us buses. -- three buses.
