this effort also extended far beyond the ntsb's personnel. hundreds of government employees are supporting this investigative mission. including employees from the f.a.a., f.b.i., and department of transportation. as a member of congress and as a citizen who cares deeply for u.s. aviation, i'm proud of those public servants and grateful for their sense of duty and sacrifice. even though we all want answers, we must resist the urge to speculate on the causes of aviation accidents and allow the ntsb to complete its work. aviation safety is dependent on a stable operating environment and technical analysis. i for one would like to trust the experts as they continue their mission to make the skies safer. but when the final report comes out, and the time comes to act, i hope that this body remembers this moment. we must do everything in our power, working across the aisle, to prevent this from ever happening again. in the meantime, let us come together in expressing our deepest condolences and pass this resolution. our thoughts and prayers remain

the faa and ntsb are now investigating.l, a man linked to the overdose deaths of two teens in santa rosa will face a judge this week. ramon nunez is being held in the sonoma county jail on homicide and drug charges. he's accused of selling drugs to 16 year old gia walsh and her 18 year old boyfriend, logan camp. both teens were found inside a home in santa rosa back in february. investigators think the teens thought they were taking cocaine, but it was fentanyl. nunez is set to appear in court on wednesday for a bail hearing and to enter a plea. this week marks the final days people can drive the great highway along san francisco's ocean beach. the two mile stretch of the highway from lincoln way to sloat boulevard is closed to vehicle traffic on friday. the road was first closed to traffic during the pandemic as a way to encourage people to get outside and exercise. but last year, voters opted to close the road for good after a contentious campaign on both sides and make a new pedestrian park instead. i'm super excited abo

the faa and the ntsb are investigating.president trump signed another round of executive orders yesterday. one titled designating english as the official language of the united states. the policy is said to encourage the learning and adoption of english, as well as empower new citizens to achieve the american dream. president trump also signed a second executive order called immediate expansion of american timber production. that announcement says within 30 days, the secretary of the interior and the secretary of agriculture will each issue new or updated guidance regarding tools to facilitate increased timber production, reduced time to deliver timber and decreased timber supply uncertainty. meanwhile, the pentagon is sending about 3000 more troops to the us-mexico border. the additional active duty troops are tasked with helping crack down on illegal immigration. fulfilling a major campaign promise from president trump, the forces are expected to arrive over the next few weeks. they include elements of a stryker brigade.

there is not an incident that we had the opportunity to investigate with the ntsb that training did not have a role in that. you look at the practices, the external pressures put on workers, you have a recipe for disaster. so there are a lot of things we can improve. but to make the answer short, we have to get back to taking on training, not forcing on regulatory minimumses and doing what is required by the regulation and making sure folks are safe and aware of what's going on and what changes are being made. ms. titus: we should look at that as we move forward. i have had a number of members talked to me about locked crossings and long trains and the problems they cause in their communities. this committee was told last year they shouldn't act on any legislation until the report came out of the national academies of sciences on the problem of long trains. that was mandated by the bipartisan infrastructure law. has that report come out? >> i believe it may have, yes. ms. titus: september 17. so i would just ask you what is in that report that says we now can act on to advance this prob
