i'd like to introduce from the city of san francisco, mohammed nuru. >> good morning, and thank you for having us out here. i'd like to start by first of all expressing mayor lee's regret for not being able to come here. unfortunately, he got stuck at city hall. but with that said, we are very, very happy to be here for this event, and to join our partners. this celebration today marking installation of the 28th piece of the piece of bridge completes the driveway, bringing the rage into san francisco. as we heard from the mayor, it is a very, very important part of the project because it does connect san francisco. as you know, of 100 million people use this bridge in a year to come to san francisco. but the construction of the bridge itself brings a lot of jobs to the bay area and we're very, very happy about that in support of all the work that our president is doing in washington to bring more of projects of this type. this bridge marks a huge improvement to connecting san francisco, and also connecting treasure island, which is the development that will be -- it's a development that

[applause] i also wanted knowledge of our other local hire, deputy director, muhammed nuru. always working for the baby. we are honored to be able to work on this for our community, who is so deserving and has been so patient. we are going to get people to work in the process and we are all going to be very happy here at the ribbon cutting and a little bit over by year. [applause] >> i think you can all see a pattern. this is all about local ownership. thank you for making this happen. i want to acknowledge and invite to the podium the leader of our library commission. no one demonstrates leadership better than jule gomez. [applause] >> thank you. it is my honor to serve the citizens of the city as the head of the library commission. i got lost on my way here. i asked two people. you ask one person and then you have to ask the second person to make sure the first person knew what they were saying. everyone knew where the library was. i took a wrong turn on silver and they set me in the right direction. that says something about the community. people know where the library is

mistaken, we are going into a question and answer session that is going to be moderated by mohammed nuru, who had to leave earlier. so who is going to do it? [inaudible] no problem. let's get started. i hope you brought your thinking caps because we have thought leaders up here who can answer questions. let's go ahead and begin. thank you. >> hi. i am sarah. i am the chief financial officer with the trance bay joint powers authority. i do want to apologize on behalf of maria caplan, she is our executive director, and she did want to be here, but had some other appointments come up. so i will try to replace her only momentarily. the trance bay transit center program, if you haven't been in the san francisco market area lately is under construction. we are replacing the old transbay terminal with a new bus and rail station, and we will be extending caltrain and high speed rail into the new station. we have completed demolition. those free ways that were referred to that are being torn down in san francisco, we have torn some of those down the old bus ramps, and the transbay terminal itself

and nuru said the place looked better and he answered questions about improvements and said yes there were improvements but when asked if they were good enough to prevent police from coming into the camp, he did not answer. so two camps got different notices but mean it gives the city a reason to go in to tear down tents. now protestors believe that action will happen tonight. and you can go to their web site they've posted that warning. neither mayor lee or the public works director when asked would admit to any police action. they won't say when that would happen, of course. >> we've learned oakland occupation is moving. demonstrateors have been kicked out of frank ogowa plaza. now picking a vacant lot as a campsite. moving day saturday. no reaction about plans for the new protest carp -- camp. >> a shuttle bus burst into flames this afternoon. there is a viewer shot this video and shared it with us. the fire started just before 5:00 from southbound interstate 280. no word on how many people were aboard. good news is that no one was hurt. patrol kept the off ramp closed until the ch

even the public works director nuru says there has been progress and says it's a delicate balance between free speech and public safety. >> i think, you know, it's a very difficult situation in the city, the city's concern is the health and safety of the living areas. we understand first amendment rights and we respect that but when you have tents and living situation, as we have seen there, there have been all sorts of things that have happened. >> here are live pictures of market street. >> reporter: you can see the tents that were along market street in front of the federal building have been taken -- [ signal breakup ] >> reporter: they want this to be peaceful. the protestors have issued a declaration after the 11 demands that were made but the final warning has been issued and even though police say there won't be a raid this mornings the city wants it cleaned up. we'll see what happens. >> thank you. >>> supporters of "occupy oakland" in the meantime plan to set up a new camp tomorrow after a rally and march through city streets. this will be the group's first rally since their enc
