let's get back to the trading action with bob pisani on the floor of the nyse. >> up and down, we are at the highs of the day but it makes people's heads spin what's going on. don't kid yourself. we are in the middle of a very powerful rally. i want to show you what's going on this week because i don't see this very often. small caps midcaps and big caps, the s&p 500 all up 3% on the week. that is very unusual. that is a sign of a very broad-based rally. i want to show you the midcap index. you can buy this in the form of an etf. we may close at an historic high for the midcap index today. i said historic high. i know you weren't paying attention, you didn't think it was going to happen but it's been sneaking up on us in the last couple days. that's a significant breakout. that's where a lot of the airlines are, where a lot of housing and construction companies are. a lot of the cyclical names are in this area. as for the old s&p 500, i know you all own the spy. remember in december it was 2090 on december 30th. we are only 30 points away. we moved 30 points in single day. my point is

david: nicole petallides at nyse. i understand trading is still halted. >> indeed.e've been trying to get a gauge how gopro would be trading. stock was halted after the closing bell, prior to numbers actually being released. the stock was halted but i will tell you earnings per share beat. the revenue beat. they saw growth year-over-year on number of devices shipped, 5.2 million for the year 2014. that was a 35% increase over 2013. the ceo came out and said we're feeling good. gopro is one of the best-selling products of the holiday season, at 1000 units per hour for entire quarter. positive comments from the ceo himself. and the stock, which you well know is down over 30% in the past three months. we'll see whether or not we get a pop. he sound very positive and a beat all together. sound like it is shaping up to be a good move for gopro. back to you. cheryl: nicole, thank you very much. david: dunkin brand reporting fourth quarter earnings, beating on revenue and missing on eps, earnings per share as u.s. sales remain kind of sluggish but ceo says he is committed

nicole saw it as nyse. >> absolutely we've seen oil with a fourth day in a row with gains. like that for oil in six years. it has taken up all the names in the s&p 500 and the dow jones industrial average. last point we checked, 41 of the 43. point of story, up arrows, 2, 3, 4% in some these names. liz: okay. shares of auto parts make remembers up following today's auto sales figures which just crushed it. >> no doubt. january was great particularly for trucks and suvs. ford is saying they had a great january. . >>> our bob casani is over here working the floor for us at the nyse, what do you see, bob?a lot of action in some subsectors. while in oil $3 price swings in oil and the big exploration production companies were out with comments eog and mill bl saying they're going to lower capital expenditures. the numbers had come down considerably. they were a lot lower, eog, earlier in the day. we had a rally in gold. that's gone. gold miners continue to drop very noticeably. gold had a disappointing earnings report. this is going on for a few days now. another gold rolling over interest rates sensitive. the rates have held up pretty well up to a few days ago. they're starting to move to the down side. this is an emerging trend here that just started this week. we have had a very narrow trading range in the major indices. kind of unusual given the volatile start we had. we're moving in 100, 150 point trading range for the whole week. that is very unusual. we're getting other areas moving. when i come back we'll talk about nordstrom which will be reporting after the bell. we'll hear abo

past week about ten shares were sold by company insiders for every one share bought, and that's among nysechange listed stocks. now, what's even hor interesting, about four and a half shares were sold for every single one buy, and that's a rolling eight-week average. they roll it all together. there is a lot more insider selling than buying right now. that's the highest level since july of last year. what does all this mean? if you take a look at the s&p 500, the last time we reached these types of levels in july of 2014 we watched the s&p 500 pull back by about 9% on an enter day basis. you can see july over here and then the ultimate peak that we saw later on towards october. a nice move lower here. now, that's not to say that insider buying and selling is the end all be all indicator, but it could be something that some investors are watching and tyler, for more on this story and bob's story, go to cnbc.com/pro. we've got a whole array of other topics to talk about. >> insider selling in and of itself does not mean necessarily -- >> no. >> they could be doing this for estate planning re
