it was made by brandon o'neil, this is a bronze bust and there's a lot of symbolism with this biased.you can see her name is down at the bottom, along the back there are some chains and the chains are broken to represent the bonds of slavery that miss tubman broke along the underground real ray. you can also see some scoring on her back, which were scars from the flocking she received in her life. she was also very strong. she could do the work of her man so her son shows her muscular tone. so the bust is sitting on top of a oak, which is a reference to her time in maryland. their oak was standing for about 460 years before it fell down. and then this is a piece of cedar, it was chosen because there it has that spiral texture and it shows tech strength strength. and it's also a reference to her time in the timber fields with her father. as i mentioned outside, the first building of the visitor center is lined in cedar as well and you'll notice that she is facing north of looking towards freedom and her head is lifted slightly, but it is also very approachable. so we begin our tour rig
