oakland, maryland, has had 36 inches of snow. oakland is in far western maryland.w flakes dropping southbound out of pennsylvania. one or two may make it to the washington area, but it won't be an accumulating snow. conversational snow flakes for late tonight and into the day tomorrow the main area of low pressure spinning its wheels in new york, pennsylvania. moisture coming off the great lakes and wrapped around from the atlantic ocean on to the western sides of the appalachian mountains and the upslope areas have been getting hammered in the last couple of days. as we go forward in time, the area of low pressure works out to sea tomorrow. good riddance to it. some of the folks in new jersey, western massachusetts and new hampshire have had 36 to 50 inches of snow with that one storm. they are glad to see that go away. for us high pressure coming in, a fairly quiet day tomorrow and a nice day on monday. partly cloudy skies by morning, watch out for a chance of black ice. where you saw a puddle today, you may see ice tomorrow. 47 for a high tomorrow with a mix of

let me show you what we have going on. 31 in baltimore. 27 in oakland. we're dropping below freezing in a lot of places. it's still varied out there. 39 in d.c. and 36 at the ocean. the winds have come down considerably, also. tomorrow's not going to be as much of a factor as the past few days. it's breezy out of the west during the afternoon tomorrow. again we'll have sunshine. as we head to the afternoon as this storm moves our way, yes this one back in here that's going to be our next problem. this one out ahead of it will weaken as it moves our way. as the one over the rockies makes its way out into the plains it will gain strength then move our way. then you see the clouds increase as we head through the afternoon, but then as the storm arrives, for most of us this is going to be in the form of rain. notice the warm front. it passes through the mid- atlantic. that puts us in the warm sector part of the storm meaning we'll get above freezing and mainly rain for most of us. there's still a lot of snow pack on the ground and the rain's coming on top of

eight to 14 inches for the oakland maryland. and southern tip of the dell mall marva, 12 to 18. so we have seen -- this is radar cade snowfall totals. snow started to fall today. right around noon. and takes time for the air to be saturated. but really the snow intensity has picked up here in the past couple of hours. so around 3 1/2 inches in baltimore. and again, this is just radar indicated. so you could add an inch onto the total right here. 4 inches to woodlawn and 3 1/2 inches toward towson. so lots of snow with this system. so next five days look like this. 29 for a high temperature tomorrow. and again we could see up to 3 feet of snow from this system. then on sunday. cold day. dry day. 27 degrees for a high temperature. 31 degrees on monday. and already looking toward tuesday and wednesday. when another system presses in here. not going to be as big as the one we are experiencing right now. but it could drop significant snowfall on late tuesday to early wednesday morning. have a look at the seven-day forecast coming up in a few minutes. >> nfl is facing a lock out, >> w

still pretty mild. 35 ocean city. 30 in oakland. the dew point, however, is still pretty low. 18. that means tomorrow, when precip begins, the temps will back down in the 20s. it will cool things down. a around the local region. we're talking low to mid-30s still in the area. but once again, temps will probably struggle to get into the upper 20s. we just updated a snowfall accumulation mat. there's so much moisture coming in with this system. we think if we get all snow and no sleet, you may see 16 to 24 across the region. some spots may get measure two to four feet of snow with this. a record for february for baltimore, is 22.8 inches. it's possible, i'm not sure if bwi might see that. north and west, probably pretty good chance. 8 to 16. 4 to 8, even from louis down to southern virginia. right along the beaches. maybe less than four inches. but that's right along the immediate beaches. take a look at temperatures around the region. as you just mentioned, 37, bel air. 36, annapolis. big, big storm. we're talking many, many hours of moisture. this is all rain. snow across kansas,

oakland is at 32 degrees. it's at that mark. everyone else in the 40s now.hat is going to change as the storm gets under way. and that is the reason we see all of these advisories, watches and warnings in effect. the eastern shore winter storm warning goes into effect later today. you see, this is a winter weather advisory. and it actually extends into these areas. that starts at 10:00 tonight and into tomorrow. but then it will be replaced by a winter storm watch. there's another part. storm that we're going to deal with. in addition to all of that, winter storm warnings also in effect for western parts of the state. there's a lot going on with this storm. and it comes in three different pieces. the first is off to the north. that's the rain that we got earlier this week. it is stalled out to our north. now, notice this is a piece that is making its way up from the south. but also notice this piece right here, when we put it in motion. this one contains a lot of the cold air. now, all of the energy from all three of these storms are going to merge together.

and 27 in oakland. around the baltimore metro, upper 20s, in some locations. otherwise, we're around the freezing mark. how much snow do we expect around this? we keep updating it. for the most part, most of maryland will see 18 to 24 inches. in other words, two feet. some spots may see 2-feet plus. some areas may see very heavy snow for a couple of hours. then it slows down a little bit. you may even hear thunder. maybe thunder snow with this. and that can bring a 4 to 5- inch snowfall. 12 to 18. 6 to 12. ocean city, probably 2 to 4. maybe as much as 6. even at the beaches. take a look at this. the rest of the region wins. that will be another major factor. and that's why we have another warning for portions of a.a. opportunitiy -- county, down to p.g. county. winds could could gust as high as 50 miles an hour. to our west. even along the shore, 50-plus. we're talking gale-forced winds. all right. we're dealing with winds. we're dealing with low visibility. and that's why we have these blizzard warnings. anything less than a quarter mile, and winds over 35 fo
