we will see temperatures across the state in the 30s and 20s this morning, 23 in oakland, 28 in cumberland, 38 in ocean city, 30 in elkton. winds across the state are variable, not a reading in elk ton, we have an 8 miles per hour wind downtown, eight in hagerstown, hagerstown regional airport, 13 in ocean city. what we're seeing is rain of course from yesterday well offshore, well gone into the northeast. we have high pressure building in. we have another disturbance in the plains states. we will see clouds increase tomorrow afternoon to see a better chance of showers by late in the afternoon. it won't be surprising to see some toward the western portion of the state in the early part of the day, because that is the direction it's coming in. that goes through here, lingers until monday, and then after it moves out of here, the run of temperatures we will see is almost unbelievable for this time of year. almost hesitate to show it to you, i don't want you to get too excited. this will be mild air moving through. the rain stays through monday. high pressure in control. we start skipping by

six out in oakland. we're at 14. ocean city at 10.we had a nice breeze, but bright sunshine all day long. high pressure over the region. however, to the west, already disturbed weather. areas of showers. rain, thundershowers down here across oklahoma and texas. for the west, it's cold enough where they saw snow in the mountains. rockies. denver, snowing right now. eastern colorado, the plains, it's snowing right now. it will be ending. but they did get several inches. west of denver, in the mountains there. they had like 20 inches of snow. so the ski resorts are having a nice little boost there. they have been having their best season ever. but they're getting snow now. this system is heading out to the east. it will bring with it some clouds. moisture moving from the gulf of mexico. overnight tonight, a few clouds. in fact, we have a few in the area now. during the day tomorrow, we'll see sun. and clouds definitely coming back in the afternoon. by tomorrow night, rain in the region. it will probably end sometime friday afternoon. and

at this point, a lot of 30s and 40s and 29 in oakland. winds are out of the north and they're in the process of turning around to the north east and they'll turn around. they'll be gusty and we have a coastal flood advisory until early thursday morning. the tides will run about 2 feet above normal and it's because of this storm here. and when we put it in motion, it tracks across the south and it's spreading up our way. we're on the outer fringes and the main part of the storm will stay to the south of us and head out to see. -- tosea. there's the potential of moisture from this one, 1 to 2- inchs of snow, and since the areas so warm, a lot of it will be wet on the roadways. we may have accumulation on the snow piles and grassy surfaces and for the most part, we won't see much. the winds continue out of the north and we'll have a sprinkle or flurry, but we'll have a nice trend for the weekend >> and here's how the storm looks. the main part heading offshore and wet snow and rain at times. today, for the forecast, for the most part, it's d

the only place below freezing at this point is oakland, at 30 degrees.dding to their already record season so far. for the rest of us, it's 40 in hagerstown. and 38 in baltimore. everyone upper 40s. the dew point above freezing. that's why there is not a huge threat, as far as accumulation with this storm. the winds will continue. and because of that, coastal flood advisories are now approaching through the beaches. higher tides than normal, about a foot or two. we're going to see wind gusts. for interior areas, more so, 30 to 35 miles an hour. that is something all of us will feel. not as high as the last storm, but it's out there. the reason we're not expecting a whole lot in the form of accumulation with this storm is the center of it is cutting through georgia and heading out to sea. we're on the northern fringe of this storm here. and we'll see rounds of rain and wet snow. but with temperatures at or above freezing, this may lay on the cars, may lay on some of those old snow piles out there and the grass. but on the roadways, it's going to have a ha

we have 33 in oakland. 41 in cumberland. 51 down on the shore. on a easton, 52. 43 at bwi, thurgood marshall. winds have still pretty light around most of the area. winds will pick up as the front that's going to bring us this transition in our forecast gets a little closer. the front is still moving here. moving in our direction. it moved right on across the country across the rockies where it dumped snow. now extending from the great lakes down toward louisiana with the western edge of it. you see snow. still associated with that. our temperatures are so warm though. we're really not going to see any winter precipitation. the most we'll get out of that is our temperatures will take a bit of a hit. today of course, we still have warm air in place. the warm air is going to start mixing with the cooler air moving in. we're going to likely see some thunderstorms out of this. the heavier rain and the overnight hours through tomorrow. thunderstorms intermittently through the day. it all starts to move out of here on tuesday. we only have really 48 ho

last year i had the opportunity to host a field hearing in oakland, county -- oakland county, michigan, where i gave borrowers and lenders an opportunity to discuss the challenges that we're facing in michigan. bank regulators attended the hearing as well, so that we could hear firsthand their policies and how those policies are making it very difficult for banks to make the loans to very worthy businesses in my state. i know it's a problem not just in michigan but in states all across this country now. one of the biggest problems that borrowers and lenders outlined was that the value of -- their value of commercial real estate, manufacturing equipment and other sources of collateral has dropped, it has made it very difficult to obtain a line of credit. even for a company that has purchase orders in hand, it is difficult for them to get that money. that's why i'm working with congressman levin and congressman dingell on legislation that will provide states with funding that they can use to create a collateral support program to make sure that these businesses get the vital lending that

baltimore, boston, pittsburgh, milwaukee, oakland, and young people would wear them, a few people would wear them to court, they were sometimes used as tools of witness intimidation, and so there's a very interesting cultural debate going on about why people who are not criminal offenders might nevertheless resist talking to the police. and this national debate has kind of taken on -- gone on under the rubric of the question, what is the stop snitching phenomenon mean in these cities? and so it goes to a number of questions. one is of course the ties between -- there's no bright line between criminal offenders and their families and neighbors and friends. today's offender arrestee might be the law-abiding citizen two years from now, and people -- sociologists have written a lot about the ties between what we tend to call the criminal justice population, but which are just people in families on the streets in neighborhoods, and how law enforcement policies can shape everyone in a community's perception of law enforcement, not just criminal offenders and offenders at whom they're directed
