sideshow in oakland . sources tell us that a police pursuit that led to the crash was not authorized. ktvu has learned that to oakland police officers chased in nissan that was allegedly involved in this sideshow early sunday morning and then a short time later that nissan crashed, sending a parked car into a group of people. killing one man and injuring three others. sources tell us the two rookie officers involved fled the seed without helping those who were hurt. in the last half hour. oakland's police chief held the news conference confirming a criminal investigation. this was a tragic incident incident and i proactively placed two officers on administrative leave. in the process. i relieved those officers of the police powers. as these allegations that we're investigating are very serious. the chief said that he cannot release all of the details to protect the internal investigation that is now underway. henry lee will bring us more on this developing story coming up tonight on the 10 o'clock news. we

in oakland, amberleigh ktvu, fox two news.ben on car cruising on some downtown streets is now over. the city council unanimously voted to lift the ban that went into effect 30 years ago it was supposed to help resolve gang issues, violence and traffic related incidents. council member role paralysis says the ban was racist and targeted latinos. and the low rider culture, police say. officials say they have not enforced the ban in more than 20 years, though. a warning now, for parents of small children, the fda says, do not use baby neck floats because the child may die or be injured. the inflatable rings are used to help babies float in the pool. according to the fda, the neck float should not be used, especially with babies who have developmental delays or special needs, it says. when using a neck float, a baby can drown, suffocate or injure its neck. the agency is aware of one infant that died and another who was hospitalized after being in that float. in both these cases, the babies were not directly monitored at the time.
