a small pivot, this november oakland voters really demanded change. they ousted the mayor and ousted the district attorney and where some see chaos others see an opportunity. what changes do you think the city really needs to make in this critical moment? >> well, i think first of all, they need to take another look at that measure x that jerry brown brought in when he was the mayor of oakland. i think he wanted to take over the control of the city and run the city. we had a city manager that was doing a tremendous job and before him we had another city manager, henry gardner, doing a tremendous job. as small as our city is, 430,000 people, we had three different major teams, athletic teams, in the city of oakland and for our size that was phenomenal. that wasn't because we had a strong measure x mayor. it was because we had great city managers. i don't think they ever really got credit for all the great jobs they were doing, but the city managers were people that were versed on what city management was all about. they were educated on what needed to

well, we've told you before, the port of oakland is looking to expand the oakland airport. but now two lawsuits filed last week are trying to block that expansion. the group againse plans claims the port fails to meet environmental standards. abc seven news reporter anser hassan spoke to those involved in this lawsuit. >> the oakland airport is looking to expand its first major expansion projects since it was built in the 1960s, but two lawsuits are seeking to block it. >> by doing this additional gates and increased airport traffic. these communities will be getting additional pollution in an area that are already overburdened by pollution. >> doctor paul english is a scientist who is part of the stop okay expansion coalition, which filed a lawsuit against the port of oakland. the port owns and operates the oakland airport. the main claim that the airport's final environmental impact report, or eir, does not meet the standards of the california environmental quality act, also known as sequa. one issue that the port conducted a health risk assessment as part of the eir. the
