the blast shutdown service between oakland's rockridge station and pleasant hill for nearly 90 minutes saturday. and stranded around 250 passengers on a bart train just 80 feet from the station. it turns out the fire broke out in a substation on the northside of the platform, but that's not how the trouble began.
