oakland hills, 2 inches of rain. about 1 inch of total rainfall from yesterday evening. we are going to be in this unsettled pattern as we head into the first half of the weekend and that next storm system will move in. this will send another atmospheric river toward the coast but exactly where is the factor that we are going to be pinning down over the next 72 hours. let's talk about the lingering showers on first alert doppler. we have a heavier downpour just to the south of downtown santa rosa. more showers making their way from marin county to napa county. a little bit of a dry break in the moment. more rain moving out of the santa clara valley into the higher elevations east of san jose. we have seen a few cloud-to-ground lightning strikes. this is the pattern we can expect for the next few days. a couple of thunderstorms here and there. it is going to be hard to get anything done because as soon as the sun breaks through, another batch of showers will be moving through. we will see that to evolve into early saturday morning. be flexible because saturday looks like

oakland hills, right above the claremont 38. las trampas, east bay hills, 44mph.hat's a lovely base map. uh, we do have some activity. just lifting from south to north. doesn't look too crazy to the north, up in mendocino county, lake county, northern sonoma, napa county. but there are some cells coming through. pretty good lightning right off. it looks like south san francisco, daly city, pacifica. so there are some bands of brief, heavy rain in there and possible thunderstorms as well. most of the activity, though, is no doubt favoring about fremont down to santa cruz, santa cruz mountains, san jose, and the santa clara valley . la is just there in the mix right now. i've seen 4 to 6in of rain just around la. la's had five, malibu's had six, so they're still getting a lot of rain down there. uh, we are in between. this part has gone north and the other part is going south. so for today, look for sun clouds off and on, rain, maybe some more thunderstorms. not as windy, but still rather blustery. we will though, start to see a break by tomorrow. you guys all right

remarkable san francisco, half moon bay, oakland hills all had gusts over 60mph. of course, the rainfall totals were pretty impressive. also so over two inches down at morgan hill, 1 in 1 third one and two thirds inches in san jose, just under two inches in san francisco and up in the north bay, three four five inches in some of the hardest hit areas right now, looking at live doppler seven, you can see that we don't have much of a storm left, but some fairly decent showers are falling down there in the santa cruz mountains and in the south bay, and the pattern has been throughout the day. the waves of rain, the bands of rain developing offshore and moving over the same areas, just drenching the same locations over and over again. we still have a level one storm for just the next few hours. on the exclusive abc seven storm impact scale, bringing showers, isolated showers and possibly isolated thunderstorms into the next couple of hours. evening hours much lighter winds than yesterday. obviously, if you are driving, watch for debris on roadways. here's the forecast

behind us is grass valley road in the oakland hills. you can take a look at the street and see shreds of eucalyptus bark all over the place. tree branches as well, and trees that have fallen, including this one right here on the corner. this is what we estimate to be an 80 to 100 foot tall eucalyptus that came crashing down onto to this house. it's just part of the trunk that's left here behind us, and it looks like the trunk trunk split in half over the roof and the branches are kind of hanging over not just this house, but the house next to it as well. this happened around 6:00 during yesterday's storm, which there were wind gusts of 50 to 60mph. we talked to some neighbors this morning who described seeing and hearing the winds howling through the trees in this area, to see him shaking back and forth. >> like i was saying, the shorter tree is usually, um, don't catch as much wind as these taller eucalyptus trees, but everything. there was a lot of wind up here and everything was moving. everything was moving. >> the wind completely u
