and let's continue our team coverage with abc seven news reporter anser hassan, who is in the oakland hillsigh answer ama and dan. >> good evening. it has been on and off rain all afternoon. dry right now. the city of oakland says since last week they have been working on storm preps, trying to get ahead of this week's storm. midday in orinda was a mix of on and off rain, but not the moderate to heavy downpours the east bay saw on tuesday. in oakland, public works got an early start on storm preps in anticipation of thursday's rain. the drainage division crews cleared out gutters along wood street in west oakland. the city says in addition to clearing out storm drains, workers are laying down sandbags and tarps in areas prone to mudslides. they're also coordinating their efforts with other local agencies. some residents, like douglas morris, say things have been good this winter. >> it's comfortable down in my house and i haven't heard of any trees coming down. >> morris has lived here for more than 50 years. he just finished his annual maintenance inspection with the oakland fire departmen
