looking this morning. of course people ride b.a.r.t. to get to downtown oakland. bob, how is it looking? >> reporter: good morning, christie. b.a.r.t. tells us they will be increasing security at four main stations in downtown oakland, at the oakland city center right now, 19th street, west oak land and also at lake merritt. they are anticipating a lot of traffic on the trains this morning. so anticipation of that, they will be running longer trains all day, eight to ten cars long. you will want to plan accordingly if you are going to be going into your commute this morning using b.a.r.t. know one saying service will be disrupted, but perhaps a lot more people coming down to oakland in anticipation of the jean strike that's supposed to be start ag few hours from now. you might recall nos justice no b.a.r.t., this is a protest group proefting the b.a.r.t. police shootings. they planned to protest down here from 7:00 to 9:00 this morning. they ended up calling it off because they figured by disrupting b.a.r.t. service, this could impact many of the protesters, many of whom who rely on b.a.r

the announcing plans for a march and rally tomorrow and occupy oakland is looking for a vacant lot for their next encampment. on monday oakland police backed up law enforcement from all over the bay area. the city made it clear there would be no more camping but people with occupy the plaza at any time. the movement now has plan to occupy a vacant law nearby. the group says it wants to start a new encampment here at 19th and telegraph. it's not clear if this is city property or if it's in the process of being developed. police say they do have a plan in place right now to prevent any new encampment. the movement suffered a set back in court yesterday. they filed a motion for a temporary restraining order on behalf of occupy oakland and against oakland police. they wanted to keep police from using excessive force in violation of their own crowd control procedures. the judge denied that request but a hearing on a preliminary hearing on that same matter is set. i will try to find out if that land is city owned or privately owned. kraig debro. >> occupy santa rosa protestors are putting ou

and let's head to the port of oakland for this look now. marchers say they're going try to shut it down for the 7:00 p.m. shift. it's the fifth busiest port in the nation. sky 7 is live over the scene, you can see hundreds of people moving to the port. mark, what can you tell us? >> well they just started walking by. boy say that estimates of crowds of 10,000 probably prety accurate. we're going to shoot into the sun. take a look at the port. there are trucks backed up, people walking into ports. and difficult to see looking into the sun. but they've shut down traffic here on middle harbor road. we'd heard that they were going to be walking not to the port but headquarters on water street. and the port sent employees home and a guard told me most had taken the day off. majority of the stores around the port stayed open but world market closed doors. a fire station next to the port offices sent employees home early as did a number of offices and one restaurant. >> we just want to make sure to get out of town and so we just thought we'd get o

look at traffic moving through here. no major problems coming in on 580 or 80. so the activity in downtown oakland has not affected freeway traffic at all. westbound bay bridge traffic looks normal. and fur driving on 28 -- if you are driving on 280 northbound no problems. 14th and broadway is a great area to stay away from. cars are not getting through and the bart is not stopping at 12th street. >>> everything is coming down out of the northwest so maybe not as warm as yesterday. but it will be a sunny to mostly sunny day. we have patchy fog out there. and rather windy at the airport. temperatures in 40s, right at about 50 degrees. and san jose 50 and concord 50. some that have fog can reduce visibility. there's a big high pressure up there. a little low spinning out on its own, no big deal. and the end of the week, we'll see a cold pattern drop in here and give us a cold rainy saturday. but the next couple days look sunny and a little cooler in the morning. patchy fog and breezy at times, sunny skies and temperatures. the temperatures will continue to be in the mid-60s here. 60 56 -- 60, 65 deg

this right now is a shot of what occupy oakland looked like moments ago. ports of 500 to 1,000 people reconvenes after they were cleared out this morning, reconvening in downtown oakland. joining us for the interview, a man who resigned with jean quan and protest of occupy oakland, john siegel. i appreciate the time tonight. >> my pleasure. >> why did you choose to resign at 2:00 a.m. this morning? >> you know, i was very unhappy with the police raid on the occupy oakland camp on october 25th, and in a conversation with some of the protesters after that raid, they challenged me about continuing to work for the city administration. and i said i was really thinking about it, but i decided to stay and hope that the policy of allowing the camp to resume would be followed. but when it became clear early this morning that 600 or 700 riot police were on their way to downtown oakland to take 100 people out of tents they'd been occupying, i wrote an e-mail to the mayor and said, i couldn't be part of that. >> obviously you disagree with the mayor's decision. having

our top story oakland police looking for leads trying to find multiple gunmen after a hail of bullets rained down at a music video shot injuring eight, including an infant. let's begin with terry mcsweeney. >> reporter: oakland police say they are going to be announcing more information about the shooting. right now here's what they are saying. eight shot during the taping of a rap music video at 7th and willow, 6:00 last night. one of them a 1-year-old boy, another, a woman all captured on surveillance video. you are going to see a group gathered near a van bullets start flying from upper right, three gunmen opened fire, people falling to the gun, some fled, some returned fire. more than 50 bullet casings found in the parking lot of that grocery store. that's four blocks from the west oakland bart station. a 1-year-old boy shot in the head he was in his father's arms the father wounded, the boy in critical, as is a woman. all eight victims taken to the hospital by private vehicles. when police showed up there was no victims at the scene. what they are saying to the community, if you

still several tents out here at the "occupy oakland" encampment. it doesn't look like any of them have thinned out overnight. in the meantime, you can see a vigil at the site of last night's shooting for the man who was killed who was identified at this vigil by a teen by the and a alex. there is tension in the air that an end to this encampment could be around the corner. the mayor and some councilmembers say that even if last night's shooting has nothing to do with the "occupy oakland" encampment, that underscores this place is not safe. they are asking campers to peacefully leave as of last night this as the investigation into that shooting continues. no one has been arrested yet. some protestors say the motive was a drug deal gone bad. >> the risks are too great for having an encampment out there. i need have my police resources out in the community in neighborhoods that traditionally have much more violence and needs the peace. it's time for the encampment to end. >> reporter: she is offering vouchers for homeless shelters for anyone who leaves this encampmen
