you're out here in the oakland hills, and you're looking down, you can look at the depths of that marine layer and make a forecast for the temperature in concord or everyone in sacramento. when it's shallow like that i'm going 95 in concord. when it's about this deep you go, 88. 87. i mean it really is a huge correlation between the depths of that marine layer which is shallower today. when it's shallow it's hot. temperatures are going to come down a little bit. it's going to deepen out a little bit. it's not super precise but you can tell a lot just by looking out there. it's a visual clue. it's been really foggy right at the beaches. low visibility as it pinches out. 58 in concord tonight. the nights are getting longer. i've noticed that outside in the mornings i'm getting out in many bay area locations, especially the smaller cities like forestville. temperatures are in the upper 40s. so yeah that's how you know it's kind of getting close to the equinox. these are the thunderstorms that we're going to be watching. they're already developed along the west slope of the sierra nevada. red flag warning in effect for the northern and eastern parts of the california and w
