the problem is lack of money in oakland that led to the layoffs of 80 police officers last year. e been brought back but oakland is still below the level in the hopes of getting up to 700. they are at 656 where they are supposed to be at. layoffs of 80 officers led to reorganization of the department and the elimination of three of six specialized crime reduction teams. they have less ability to be pro active. the mayor says she is doing what she can. there is an agreement with atf to work together more closely to do something about the problem. but to give than an idea how bad it is, there are 3,000 seized weapons at oakland police department and many of them will be used as evidence in trials. live in oakland, terry mcsweeney "abc 7 news." >> san jose police officer arrested for molesting underaged boys is due to face charges in court today. gilroy police arrested officer patrick durego when he arrived to work on wednesday. they say he molested 15 and 17-year-old victims during parties at his home in gilroy and he also served alcohol to the boys. he may have molested other teens

the murders of the three victims, are on going according to investigators here inside of the oakland police department's major crimes unit. two suspects are wanted in the most recent case, a father shot dead in front of his 6-year-old son during the course of a robbery. opd investigators say they have received tips from the community in the case but no arrests have been made. two suspects, lawrence denard and willie torrence has been arrested for the shooting death of the 3-year-old. the high profile murder of an innocent child sparked outrage from the community and that led to tips that led to the suspects. it has been nearly five months and no suspects have been identified for the murder of jesus. the owner of the restaurant was of gunned down in the early morning hours on april eighth. campos' son that the family is growing frustrated with the investigation. >> we want answers quicker, i do not know what is going on really. >> oakland police say the murder case is far from being cold. in fact investigators here say they are actively pursuing several is leads in the investigation. >>> bil
