this is all taking place in the oakland unified school district. the parents and students had a long discussion with the school board members but the school board members ultimately decided to approve the resolution. what this means now is all students over the age of 12 will now be required to be fully vaccinated against covid-19. there will be some exemptions with a doctor's note and when the vaccine will be required. right now we are not sure of the date but we'll keep you updated on the topic. and the issue of mandating a vaccine seems to be gaining popularity because there are some other districts in the bay area also discussing that issue. now, berkeley unified school district as well as piedmont have discussed the mandate. berkeley right now has not made anything official. piedmont has decided to move forward with the mandate for the students 12 and older, those eligible students will now have until november 17th to receive their shots. and going back to the oakland unified school districts, in terms of enforcement right now, that is unclear
