the thorough going propaganda campaign has been quite effective in the united states but the obama administration unlike say the clinton administration in its last months of its second term where it tried to normalize relations with north korea sent madeline albright then secretary of state there to meet with kim jong il there seemed to be a thaw the obama administration is taking the bush administration policy of provocation escalation increased tension to a whole new level and i think the obama administration is designed a policy that's intent on carrying out regime change in north korea and i think this is crazy because the north korean government has made it clear that it won't go the way of east germany to be incorporated swallowed up by the pro western second part of its country and now we see a growing confrontation the obama administration doesn't want a war they want to carry out regime change that's why they've been huddling. sanctions how do they think it's going to help them with. well they they want to they want to create pressure on china to break china away from its historic relati

why that obama administration agenda stalled? is it because of the credibility issues? >> you know it is frustrating. you know businesses are not confident that what is coming out of washington -- all of the policymakers, white house and congress -- is something they did count on. this is the problem, they don't have confidence to invest back in their. and to know what their costs will be. you know businesses fundamentally take a multiyear time horizon in their planning, they don't know from -- when they don't know, as they don't know now what their costs will be because of government regulation, and taxiningation, y cannot plan, they cannot afford the risk of adding the jobs. liz: steve makes a great point, really, the white house saying spring break will slow job creation, come on, seriously? that is what they are saying is to blame? are you serious? come on. the medical device tax is going nowhere. there is little money now for infrastructure, $21 million verse what the president originally wanted. i think that obama administration, not just stalled but have under cu

is this real skepticism by the obama administration that maybe assad didn't okay? this just an attempt to buy time? >> well, it could be both. it could be buy time. one of the things josh and i were discussing, the syrian government has, whether or not there was a strict chain of custody up to the command staff, they've lost control of those weapons. that's an important item to remember, but the second part is this issue about red lines and chemical weapons has been on the table for a long time and you've got to ask who had the most to gain by the minimalist use of this. and frankly, it's the syrian opposition. i'm not saying that's the case, but it's a legitimate question to ask. i imagine we have signals intelligence scrambling around and political leadership saying what the hell just happened here, what happened and we're trying to process how much control there might have been about these incidents that josh reported on. so i think there's a legitimate issue that we need to sort out because you could begin assigning blame and retribution to the wrong element. >

>> well, the obama administration was very, very cautious on this. they are not sure yet if this evidence they have is credible. they use this phrase over and over again, credible. and if there's proper corroboration. we're also facing, the obama administration, a potential showdown in iran. so the answer is, i'm not sure. i think it depends if they have more -- more evidence that's solid. that's why they are also going to the u.n., moving very cautiously on this. >> and on a much lighter note, the white house correspondents' dinner is tomorrow. now normally it's a light, fun event. but do you think that the tone may be a little different this year given that it's coming so close to the marathon bombings? >> i think in terms maybe of some of the speeches. there's as many parties as ever that are going on, and this is known as the big prom night in washington. but i think you do have a point in that in terms of just some of what the tone of president obama's speech may be a little bit less -- you know, these speeches always have a heavy dose of self-d
