obama's story? >> there are several true of almost anyone you would study. in this case, there's the pathology that obama himself portrayed in his memoir. as an historian, my goal is not to fact check all of that but to tell the truth. and let the chips fall where they may. in the case of barack and his memoir, the mythologies range from early on, for instance in high school, in his memoir, he says that he wasn't a starter on his basketball team because he played black and the coach coached white. of course i discovered in fact barack obama was about the eighth or ninth best player on that team. that he was one of the few players who couldn't dunk the ball. so it had nothing to do with race. everything in his book is seen through the lens of race and that sometimes distorts things. like the girlfriend that he writes about in his memoir in new york city he defines her through the lens of race. as a white woman who doesn't understand the anger of black people. then a completely different perspective on race. the other mythology of the right wing birtherings. th

you listen here, it's sad if you're a barack obama supporter like me when you get one story after anotherracy, medicare -- the medical bill before the supreme court. all of this stuff going bad for obama. yet, take a look at the recent polling in three of the key swing states between romney and obama. in florida, a real surprise to me, obama leads romney 45 to 41. and also, among hispanics in that state, which are heavily cuban it wins almost 2 to 1. ohio and pennsylvania. put it in perspective, romney needs to win two of those three states to get elected president. and so, it's really interesting to me that after all the negativity about obama, it's, he seems to be leading across the country. why is that, eric? >> eric: it's baffling. especially in light of what the city is like right now. especially -- well, we'll see what happens tomorrow. obamacare decision comes down. if he loses there. he got his attorney general in contempt of congress. it could get ugly for obama. numbers will switch. >> bob: in ohio -- case and point, in ohio, the economy got much, much better. >> dana: thanks to

how awkward is for you the guy who won the republican race now has to take on barack obama, what you sense is a vulnerable area, is the guy that basically inspired the whole plan to start with? >> well here's what i know. i know that if barack obama is re-elected president, obama care will be implemented because he will veto anything that weakens that law. i also know governor romney has given signs he will do whatever he can to weaken the law. so that's the clear choice for me. the issues that i was bringing up during the campaign were really campaign issues. not issues as to who would happen if governor romney actually got elected president or not. i think he's made it very clear what he wants to accomplish is to repeal obama care. trust me, we will hold him at that word. i believe he will keep it. >> yeah, but here's the problem. you know, he's the guy that came up with the brilliant answer to health care problems in massachusetts. a big state in neamerica. it was called a mandate. moment barack obama comes up with the same idea, he slams it as disgraceful and the end of the world
