. >> thunderstorms rolling across ocean city beaches right now. moving away from the region and that is the leading edge of the cold front, breaking the heatwave. it is looking pretty good. within the next few minutes down at ocean city. hear the rain has already tapered off. things are drying out nicely to the west of us. less humid air is coming in. how much rain? sunspots' got more than others. we did not get much at all around here. there were some parts of baltimore county. scattered showers in the mountains and flooding rains. just off ocean county, severe flooding that way. many storms down to ocean city, otherwise some parts misdoubt almost altogether. it was scattered but when you got underneath, they were pretty rough because we have a lot of hot air in place and a cold front slamming into it. afternoon temperatures hitting 100 degrees for the third straight day but that should do it. the storms are developing and if you look west, the cooler air will be coming our way. still cloudy with a shower lingering on the coast saturday morning b

that's that band of showers well east of ocean city. we're in the clear as far as the severe weather goes. there's still a few minor concerns as we head throughout the day one of which is the heavy rain that fell yesterday. we saw quite a bit across the area. i want to come back and show you the accumulations over the past 24 hours and you can basically take out the storm track by how much rain fell. inch to 2 inches in the areas that you see in green. one that came from northern virginia all the way up to frederick getting into carroll county and eventually northern baltimore county as well. that was one storm track, multiple storms moved that way and caused damage to trees as well. we also had another storm track from d.c. all the way up to baltimore along the 95 corridor. that's the storm track that caused that damage in harford county and then we also had more storms down into the lower eastern shore. so you can see we did have some isolated areas that saw about an inch of rain plus and that just caused some localized flooding yeste

ocean city at 93 degrees.im is in the outback with an update on the advisory. >> many of the advisories have been lifted across central maryland because we're now losing the heat of the day. so for most of the state and except for the eastern shore, the advisories have been lifted. we now have heat advisories in effect from cecil county down toward the central portion of the eastern shore and all the excessive heat warnings have now been lifted on this side of 95. go up into pennsylvania, heading up to philadelphia, and they're still in effect. as far as a break from the heat and humidity, we will get that on saturday. tomorrow with temperatures going up to 96, 94 to 96 degrees again we will have thunderstorms likely in the afternoon. that will bring the transition. temperatures will drop on saturday into about the upper 80s to low 90s. it will mean about a 10-degree difference from where we've been topping out over these last few days. if there's any small favor to be gained by any of this is that sailabratio
