and there were 43 households house inside 21 of the 43 were house inside ocii projects and 22 were housed in-houseing community development projects and there were 19 folks that lived outside of san francisco that when they were displaced they went outside of san francisco that came back, hallelujah. sam pablo, richmond, elk grove, san jose, hayward, san rafael, berkley and all those people to our city ex council tee of san francisco. so what happened to the folks that submitted an application but didn't get housed. 172 of them. there were 24 that were under income, we, as you will remember we were having a great partnership with the cue foundation that has a rental subsidy program that has been really helpful to house certificate of preference holders. the program ran oust their subsidiaries in mid of this year so we were unable to access those subsidiaries, they did get reunder and they currently have certificates and it's not too dismal for 17 and 19 that subsidy to get housed and 28 of them were over income, it's a fine line but those folks keep applying they will find something and r

the other agencies that you look at san francisco housing authority and look at the oewd, look at ocii look at the department of real estate and i'm going to name a few. and this is a letter that i gave to the mayor and i hope that this didn't cause him to have a heart attack because it was the first letter that i ever signed in 20 years. but i had told the city and county and the mayor particularly that we wanted to know what's going on with the addition, yoshis, where the city and county spent over $18, $19 million and never got a dime of it back. but they lit 1300. a place there that used to have a commissioner that used to work with the small business commissioner, manetta white on 1300. on top of that, opened up a business right across the street from where she supposed to be closed at, they call black bart. and then adjure -- she got another store out there at the airport. 1300. so, out in the heck -- and i don't care if she is black. how in the heck in the community where the city let someone that's -- that was a community person , then turn to a small business and had to go to

what we are doing is voluntarily layering on ocii, sbe program on this project, which calls out for significant participation by lbe's. next project up is going to be the local, as discussed earlier. local culinary arts program. it is a program that takes the small businesses from incubation to accelerate and provides space that is heavily developed with barrier removal strategies to maximize the success for these entrepreneurs including 65 to 100 million, flexible licenses, no personal guarantees, these are strategies we will be employing. next one up is community arts. we are working closely with had community art representatives to design something very innovative for this. we believe this can be more than a location for only a mural. we believe there's opportunities inside the building, outside the buildings to curate and rotate and constantly revive this building with new buildings, new images, new themes. lastly, i am thrilled to say that we are wrapping our arms around those high schools to bring in opportunities and professional service firms. i'm very sorry that it's been cut so short.

i was on the ocii commission when it was for the purposed and served the last 3 1/2 years as planning commissioner. i'm leaving to hopefully continue my public service if other capacities, but i wanted to give a statement here to the commission, to the staff and to the rest of the city that i've been honoured to serve beside you and honoured to serve the city and just leave with a couple of words on this day. i was really sad coming into the building. so, i wrote some things down to make sure i didn't forget anything. so, ahem. my time at the commission, we've deliberated affordability, availability housing, shared use models for home and transit, and how s.f. should respond to our economic engine from the changing nature of retail and what our streets should look like to the coming role of cannabis which we'll see play out over the coming years. this commission has also delved beyond our borders to look at the city's workings. i kind of started it off. but we've had a number of joint hearings with other -- our sister agencies and we've really begun pushing to have all of us work toge

ocii and planning commission. and it was striking to me just, you know, not only how civil he was, but also how fierce he was in a lot of ways. he was a man who would put himself in whatever position was necessary to do good things for people. that's how he became from, you know, being if a housing rights activist in the streets to becoming mayor of this great city. he was willing to take on whatever role was needed to move the ball forward. and so he implored that upon me to use the roles that he was appointing me to to move the ball forward. he is really an inspiration in that way. he will be sorely missed. my condolences to his family, first and foremost, and to all the city family. city family beyond that that worked really closely with him. this is a sad week. his memorial was on sunday and i think maybe it will strike more of us then. but i think it is incumbent upon all of us to continue the good work that he wanted to do and to remember always to put ourselves if whatever position we can to help people and
