large projects that are asking for development agreements that we don't just simply sit back and let oewdegotiate them and actually take an active role in pushing and making sure that the policies and the aspirations of our general plan are reflected in these development agreements. it means that when we hear from developers talking about their great local hire policy that we make sure that it's actually not just bringing people in for low-level work, but we're actually putting people in sustainable careers. whether it is sustainable careers on the operations and sort of the permanent employment side or on the construction side, which is sort of my day-to-day work and it is not just getting them in there to hold the flag. we hear this from communities all the time or do traffic control, but really push developers and push the contractors who they hire to make sure that there's -- that they're participating in legitimate and bona fide apprenticeship programs and that they're paying people wages that are sufficient for them to live in san francisco, much less even in the bay area. and that
