a lot of heaviest rainfall looks to be offshore. and we will start to see showers develop. it will stay dry wednesday, 60s inland with the cold start and throughout thursday, showers develop in the evening. the most consistent rainfall late in the evening, around 10:00, 11:00, and to midnight and moving off to the north bay and by 5 or 6:00 in the morning, it will keep most of the heaviest rainfall still offshore and heading to 9:00 a.m. friday morning, that looks like we will get accumulating rainfall. most of it for the coast and peninsula and north bay. east and south bay could see little to nothing in the way of rain when it comes to this storm system looking a tenth to quarter inch to the south bay with the coastal areas getting the brunt of this system with the center of the storm staying just offshore. tonight, a little warmer in the ntsb. 37 in santa rosa, 37 in napa, and 46 in gilroy. a little bit of overhead cloud cover moving in tonight will help keep temperatures warmer and slightly warmer air in the atmosphere will help us a little bit tomorrow. 67 in san mateo

we have rainfall developing offshore, but it's slow to move in right now. as we put our radar into motion, two sources of moisture or the storm system nearly stationary and subtropical moisture from the south. two areas of moisture interacting or fighting in and amongst each other. we are getting movement behind the storm. for tomorrow, we find this coastal storm mainly offshore and keeping the heaviest rainfall and the strongest wind over the pacific. for friday, that will mean periods of rainfall and temperatures in the 60s and throughout saturday a few showers in the forecast. for tomorrow morning, it looks like the showers will start to develop off the peninsula by about 6:00, 7:00 to 9:00 in the morning. you will find clouds and scattered showers continuing into 7:00 p.m. tomorrow. it will be a hit and miss storm. some of you will find rainfall others find periods of dry weather. not even picking up the rainfall and also for the south bay. most of the heavy rainfall will be right along the coastal areas. we have the highest totals expected to see about

we've had thunder offshore and things may get a little interesting especially up to the north bay valleylater tonight. lowering snow levels and rain changing over to showers on sunday. so the radar is starting to line up around the bay area. not so much around san jose but you can see light rain showers approaching marin county and into the north bay and some embedded thunder along the cold front which is offshore and notice these popcorn like clouds. that is some cold, unstable air aloft that's going to drive down our snow levels and bring us quite a bit of rain heading into tomorrow morning. so rain already starting to spread over the bay area. now notice the trend here into the afternoon. mostly in the south bay but if the cold air dropping in on the north side below could get some sleet mixing in some of those heavier showers for parts of the inland north bay areas, up to lake county as we start to head toward monday things start to dry off. above 2,000 feet tonight could get a little snow. as we head into monday storm tracker steers off to the north so monday, tuesday, and i think f

it shows rain offshore.s is a slow- moving system that will be with us throughout the remainder of the day. it actually gets a little more intense into the north bay into the afternoon and evening. we could deal with moderate rainfall everywhere north of san francisco. as we head into 7:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., will hold on to light showers. let's take a look at the afternoon highs. '50s and '60s. in the north bay, upper 50s. your 7 day around the bay forecast shows rain for today and stretching into tomorrow as well. as we head into sunday, sunshine and that will last through the middle of next week furious >>george: we are looking at good conditions around the bay area. we are not tracking any hot spots or problem areas. we are looking at lighter than usual traffic just about everywhere. there's hardly any volume on the bay bridge as we move past 630 a m. on the san mateo bridge, similar conditions. look at the gaps between the cars. third for your ride on highway 101, the golden gate bridge, the trip the northb

offshore you can see more moisture out here and the spotty clouds offshore indicating chilly air aloft which is going to power up more showers tomorrow. freezing levels, chances are some of that rain could be small hail so look out. tomorrow morning the trend, looks like it's going to shift toward the south bay. during the afternoon, notice what happens. the cold low passes just to our south. we'll see more showers heading up and things drying out toward sunday evening. rain totals to the hills, 1 to 2 inches in the higher elevations, .5 inches aless around the rest of the bay area by tomorrow afternoon. for the morning we'll be watching mt. hamilton or diablo could have a testing of snow. toward lunchtime you'll see those temperatures having a tough time getting out of the low 50s. we'll get sunny breaks tomorrow. more so for the north bay. a cool finish to the weekend. by the evening we should be drying out. first half of the week does look fairly dry. wednesday night into thanksgiving thursday, not the best time, rain coming in. another foot or two of snow for the sierra, so resorts
