now, this all stems from ohio state university dr. richard strau strauss, he was the team doctor in athletics according to the ohio state university website from july 1981 through 1995. that is during the time that congressman jim jordan was an assistant coach for the wrestling team. there is an investigation that is independent appointed by the attorney general in ohio. they are in the midst of it talking to now grown men who were young athletes at the time saying that this doctor and according to nbc news three former wrestlers have said that dr. strauss showered inappropriately with students and touched them inappropriately during medical appointments. we do have a statement from jim jordan that says congressman jordan never saw any abuse, never heard about any abuse, and never had any abuse reported to him during this time as a coach at ohio state. he has not been contacted by investigators about the matter, but will assist them in any way they ask because if what is alleged is true, the victims deserve a full investigation and jus

richard strauss team doctor for the athletics at ohio state university allegedly sexually molested studenthletes. well, the university has launched an independent investigation into dr. richard strauss who actually died in fwooif but he was the team physician from 1981 through '95. affiliated with the university for 20 years. and that takes us to the wrestling department because michael disabato is a former wrestler of the university that is now speaking out saying that he had been a friend of jim jordan's and his family for 40 years, that in march he had the courage to step forward. he e-mailed and called initially, jim jordan, to say, look, i will come out and tell them that he -- i was sexually molested by the doctor. he says, jim jordan, said please don't involve me. he e-mailed him after that. he says that in the locker room that everyone during the time including jordan knew about doc as they called him. if you went to see doc in the room for one of your injuries that he would touch you inappropriately, molest you. here's more of what michael disabato said to me minutes ago. >> he wa

ohio state had knowledge of and had received complaints of the sexual abuse from the doctor. these are ones that go into more specific detail. >> so how is that documented? i mean, how does the universityt, you know, what its response was at the time and now? >> yeah, it's tough to say. one of the biggest issues that ohio state has run into is the fact that a lot of these documents aren't necessarily kept for too long. much of the investigation has been done sort of through witnesses. it's sort of just trying to piece together different things, you know, like ted grace is no longer with the university. they've also talked recently with more than 100 former student-athletes and students who were abused by strauss. so at least for right now, there's not a ton of documentation that they necessarily can comb through, at least that i'm aware of. it's mostly been going through old witnesses and talking to them about it. >> so ohio congressman jim jordan was a wrestling coach during that time of this alleged abuse carried out by dr. strauss. but some of the accusers say jordan knew about the abuse or at least should have known. listen to how he responded in a fox news interview earlier this m

we look at the time line, it's april 3 that the investigation was publically announced of ohio state university'smer team athletic physician for over two decades, whether he sexually l molested hundreds of athletes and others. april 24th is when he sent an e-mail to the congressman. it does say that i need your help. i want you to help me in regard to the sexual molestation of myself and others by the team physician. also goes into personal things about congressman jordan's brother, jeff jordan, that he intentionally breached a contract with my company, jeff jordan, we reached out to him. saying i never breached any contract. a lot of things went into this e-mail. there were several e-mails. the congressman said yesterday that the latest one was 4:30 yesterday morning. because of that, the office was considering contacting the capital police because of the timing, 4:30 in the morning, of that e-mail. >> kind of -- suggesting if he is not saying outright that there's something threatening. >> our colleague, a source she had on background said they believed there were veiled threats in the letter.
