this shooting happened at oikos university at 7550 edgewater in oakland. the website said it's an independent institution set up to provide the highest level of education with an emphasis on christian. it's unknown how many students attend the university. we understand it has a korean affiliation and a religious affiliation as well. no word when it opened up either. again, these are pictures from the scene. this is videotape from earlier. you can see a police dog on the scene obviously looking for some clues and one of the victims on the cell phone being put into an ambulance. jade hernandez a moment ago talked to us from highland hospital where she said there were about two or three injured brought to the scene. some of the injured seem okay. they were able to walk out on their own. they possibly got shot in the arm or the hand. but again, there was reports of at least two people shot in the lead -- in the head. one confirmed dead and we do have -- we have a police source that says up to five people have been killed by this gunman. we don't know any mowive

christie smith is live at the crime scene at oikos university in oakland. we begin with bob redell at the estuary where dive teams have been searching for the gun used in that deadly rampage. good morning, bob. >> good morning. yes. police teams were out here late last night searching this section of the oakland estuary. looking for the . .45 caliber handgun that they believe one goh tossed on his way to alameda where he surrendered on monday. investigators say that goh has been cooperative in interviews except for when it comes to pinpointing the exact location of where he allegedly ditched his weapon. but other investigative leads point to this area. just off the martin luther king jr. regional shoreline center. that's where we are at now. law enforce many uses a remote control sonar robot, police boats, divers out here to perform the search in what they say is the 90 by 75 foot grid. if law enforcement don't find the gun they don't think it will be a make or break against goh. >> it is not critical but it is an important piece and the moss important thin

it was a full tactical response for oakland police as officers surrounded the oikos university on edgewater drive. calls came into 911 just before 1030 this morning and for several hours police still did not know what they were dealing with >> a gunman came into the college and fired multiple shots. we do have fatalities as >> as police tried to determine if the suspected shooter was inside the building or if perhaps there were more than one shooting, students ran out of the building under police escort. at one point police could be seen breaking the window with a battering ram and after at least some of the dead were brought out, police secured the building to the point where medical crews could get close enough to bring out the wounded on stretchers. minor williams works nearby. were the they fired inside the building? >> inside the building. they went over there and that is when i started to see them drag the bodies out >> how many came out? >> about five. >> for several hours police and swat team members searched the building as nearby office workers were told to stay inside >> i don't

let's start with where we're standing the crime scene here oikos university still a crime scene. detectives are saying it could be another day or so before they hanover control of the university back to the school. you can -- hand over control of the university back to the school. there is still an officer out here guarding the school. another scene is going to come into play today. look at video of the estuary near the oakland airport this is where authorities have been searching for the murder weapon. they weren't able to finish the search because of weather yesterday. they are going to be back out there today, diving again and searching for that murder weapon. another revelation, apparently the administrator originally named as the target of one goh's shooting rampage has been changed. the police chief told at associated press that ellen cervellon was the target. the chief is saying it was another administrator and not naming that administrator, also a woman. one goh was well-known on campus by administrators and students. his reputation was not great. >> information that we ha

she is a nursing director at oikos university but was not there at the time of the shooting, she was teaching at a different university. but she came out saying that she thought she was the target because she had dealings with a suspect one goh and the past over a financial dispute. he dropped out of the university and wanted a full refund of his tuition but she denied this. and that is why she thought she was the original target. a close friend of hers said she told her that there was not something so right about the suspects. >> he just, and this was not too long ago that there was a student that made her feel uncomfortable. you know, and i asked her if that was him later and she said " yes ". >> we're also learning new details about that grisly murder. one survivor that decline to go on-camera says that when one goh told students to line up some of them complied while others moved to slow. this angered him and caused him to shoot off more. that survivor ran away not realizing that he had been shot in the arm. this morning a memorial is growing outside of the school here as oakland
