i also know and am aware of that bruce oka, who was a former mta commissioner, who served with -- as a distinguished member there, someone that i didn't agree with many of his actions as well, but someone i would be very happy to support here at the sunshine ordinance task force, submitting his application today or submitting it in the next few days and someone i believe we could get full support. i think we talk about diversity here at the rules committee. someone that would bring the first asian member to the sunshine ordinance task force. i think that would be very important, and someone that i would support and i think would have the full support of the board of supervisors. to me, my approach, i appreciate the motion, it's not something that i would support today because, in my opinion, we're going to go through this same thing we went through a number of months ago, where mr. wolfe -- unless maybe some things change, but i don't believe will have the full support of the board of supervisors, and wil we'll be bk

that having been said, deputy chief tomy oka and i conducted interviews today for the written directives unit with the intention of bringing two or three officers into the unit to assist us with not only the following revisions to the general orders and updates to the department bulletins but to get us into that process in a quicker manner. and i'm hoping that we will be able to identify those officers and get them into the unit as soon as possible. the ultimate thing that we would like to do, is have some of that turned over to the civilian hires so we can have the officers back on the street. but wait that the hiring standards are in the department, we are just not able to hire the civilian personnel at this time with a reduced rate to have the officers on the street. but that is what our ultimate hope is in the near future. so i will just spend a couple of minutes discussing where we are on department general 5.05 and 5.01. i will start with 5.05 and once i am done with that you can ask any questions that you have. 5.05, the per suit has been a hot topic, general order for the commiss

i appreciate your comments about bruce oka.i've worked with him for 12 years in the paratransit -- council. i believe that we have a great opportunity, based on my experience as a disabled man with liv to talk all these programs, all this immense outreach, and convert that into the services that our senior community needs. i've presented a possible idea to bevan dufty last month about cooling housing income, that seniors get in this city. i think that the shanti model could be used for peer support for our seniors. we have so many resources, i think that this committee has the opportunity to bring some of these resources together, implement them, and deliver great services to our senior lgbt citizens. i appreciate your time, and look forward to service. thank you. >> chair kim: thank
