this is the oklahoma city swiftwater rescue team.n working with the el reno swiftwater rescue this morning. the floodwaters here, the boat is up. they have rescued about ten people here just off of this street that we're on, called elm street. and we're in el reno, here, and this is where the flood waters, six-mile creek is in the distance, and the floodwaters have come up slowly overnight. we talked to some of the families pulled out of here. ten people in all in the last hour and a half or so. they say they had gone to bed last night and when they woke up this morning, their homes were essentially sitting on aisland surrounded by water. rescue teams were brought in and all pulled out. mostly adults, but four childrening having to go through all of that. a rather traumatic experience for the young kids, seeing all of this unfold as the flood waters creeping into their homes. these people want to get out as quickly as possible. in all, this has been an operation going on all night. oklahoma city team tells us they have rescued about

we've had four to six inches of rain overnight from oklahoma city to tulsa. ahoma is by far the worse. 14 million people are in this flash flood watch and includes much of oklahoma, missouri and illinois because we're not done with the rainfall yet. that flash flood emergency for tulsa will continue to 5:45 this morning local time. here's a look at the close up. radar. we still have this squall line that's just now going through oklahoma city. it's already had three rounds of storms. this is the fourth for some areas. this one has some strong gusty winds with it. more the water issues we're dealing with. i'm hearing some schools are closing because there's so many highways and roads closed and flooded throughout this region they want to keep everybody at home or as many people possible. this has to go back over the top of tulsa. i was looking at a little creek called the bird creek north of tulsa, snakes down north of the city. that just broke its record crest by two feet. it's up to 24 the feet. the old record was 22 feet. those records go back to the 1940s.

we are in oklahoma city. is even tornadoes sirens going off right now in meeker, oklahoma. that situation is developing there. here in oklahoma city, it is all about the flash flooding. and you can tell by what's going on right behind me. you see this is neighborhood street that's now basically turned into a river. this was a man made lake that's now creeping up into the neighborhood. and if you zoom in, we can see what looks like a paddle boat that's sort of gotten stuck now, will never be able to be used again. we almost had a dangerous situation here not too long ago we saw a couple of young men out here looked like they were trying to get to that paddle boat, trying to pull it out but that would have been a really bad idea because you see just how fast that water is rushing. very dangerous situation for folks here in oklahoma city if they are just waking up getting into their cars and trying to get around. this is what they are going to see. there is also plenty of power outages here. we're seeing definit
